Oak Valley's layout consistently earns high praise for its variety of challenging holes featuring tight fairways, undulating greens, and scenic mountain views. Well-maintained tee boxes, fairways, and fast greens combine with friendly staff to deliver outstanding value in the Inland Empire.

This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.

A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.

Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.

"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

Good layout but terrible conditions

Greens were mostly bumpy and waffle like. Very challenging greens to begin with but no chance with all the bumps seeming from punching them, but when? Really good layout with variety and uphill approaches and drops to par 3's. No overseeding or much maintenance on fairways etc. I don't think there was a level tee box nor a green. Very very rough looking and playing.

Disappointed

I always heard good things about oak valley from some of my older buddies and family members, also heard this course use to be used for Q School, with that being said and a $80 tee time i expected much more. The starter was very nice and funny, good vibes to start the round. However after that it was rough .. not only a 5 hour round but the tee boxes might as well have been the rough.. the fairways were browning and the greens were bumpy.. putts looked like a snake wiggling to the hole. While the layout is nice and you can tell this course use to be worth $80, they need to realize it’s just not there anymore. Also the Marshall kept driving by our group and just stopping and staring. Not a word said, found that kinda interesting lol, especially because my group isnt and wasn’t being a rowdy or any problem a, maybe he just wanted to watch golf lol but anyways definitely would play here again but never for $80 .. probably should be dropped down to about $45-50 if that.. if they can make the greens solid and get the tee boxes cut I’m sure this course could return to $80 and to the glory days I’ve heard about.

Gone down hill

Fairways were pretty chewed up and full of weeds. Greens were hard as concrete with shots often bouncing high off them like they hit the cart path. Pro shop was closed and there was no cart girl. The starter and marshal were friendly and the pace of play was great. The course used to be beautiful not sure why the conditions have fallen off. There are nicer courses similarly priced near by.

Great course

I was really impressed with Oak Valley today. First, the starter was really helpful to begin with. He provided a few good tips for us first time players there.

The layout of the course is challenging, ut enjoyable. Lot's of elevation changes. Greens and tees in great shape. Being winter, there were area in the fairways that were dormant. This is to be expected.

Finally, we got around in roughly 3.5 hours. We will definetly be making a return trip.

Dry

This is usually a great golf course. Not Now! Golfed today, it’s bone dry, I doubt they are watering, it’s awful, I’ve golfed here many times, today, a complete disappointment. To make matters even worse, employees were golfing, skipping past groups only to slow it down for everyone. No beverage cart on course, snack bar is pathetic. I don’t think I’m coming back, such a nice course going downhill..I wouldn’t be surprised if they close, that’s what it looks like.. dismal golf course management..

Nice layout. Course needs some TLC

First time playing here. Really liked the overall layout but the fairway need a lot of work. Too many dirt patches, gopher holes and bare patches. Could be a great course if it was better cared for.

Great course to golf if you like cow pastures

Terrible, terrible, terrible. A cow pasture. I played if last year and it was ok. Now it looks abandoned. Don't waste your money. You've been warned.

This is now a cow pasture. I played it last year. It was a little shabby then but this year it looks abandon. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE. It is sad how the owners have let this beautiful piece of golf property erode..

Pretty rough

Greens were in great condition, everything else wasn’t. Fairways were patchy, tee boxes were not good shape.

Winds were howling so kept alot of people away probably but that didn’t affect my review. Played it years ago when it was in better shape.
