This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.
Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.
"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

Don’t play if you want to finish in less than 5 hours.
I am on the course writing this review. The front nine was great ! Played it in under 2 hours BUT when we get to the 10th tee the starter and 2 of his buddies jump in front of us and start playing!
On hole 14 after 90 minutes !! The course is allowing 5 somes and playing so slow I’m debating if I should stop or push thru !
Good course to play if they don’t let employees jump in front of the paying customers !!!
So So
Fairways were clumpy and pretty dead. Impossible to get a good lye. Greenskeepers must have been pretty passed off today. Pins were in Impossible positions. 5 paces off the edges and on down slopes and lightning fast.. Brutal. Also, the range, that used to be grass, now has mats on top of the grass. When you swing, sometimes the mat will shift and the ball will fall off the tee. Very disappointed in this. I'm usually a picture taker for the gram but today I didn't take a single pic.
What a Surprise!
I have been playing the desert courses in the Palm Spring area. Another golfer I was playing with recommended it. I decided to drive over th Beaumont. I very much enjoyed playing Oak Valley. It's layout, greens and it look I very much enjoyed. It's a must play for me any time I come to the Palm Spring area in the future.
Fairway and green
Very nice greens fairways was in good shape this is a very good course to challenge yourself in putting and making the shot in the fairways
Great Day
Excellent course the greens and tee boxes were in great shape. As usual with Inland Empire tracks they do a poor job overseading. The fairways were ok but not great and you are often hitting off dormant Bermuda. Regardless, it was a great day!
Nice course
Good conditions with slight delay because of frost. Layout was great and the views are awesome
