This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.
Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.
"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

Try to play here at least 5 or 6 times a year...fairways have a good cover in most areas as over the years Kukuya grass has mixed in with the Bermuda grass....on paper over 6300 yards for white tees but 220 drives and having a club you can hit about 175 covers most of the par 4's, Par 3's all very reachable...so distance and slop rating are a bit over stated. Some quick breaks right around the holes seems to be a common occurrence all year. always amazed my score is lower here then any other course in the area, and this place looks hard??
Great shape
Course is in great shape as usual. Greens are always true. The only reason that I can't go 5 Stars on conditions is due to some very flooded out areas. I'm pretty sure that is because of recent overseeding. I'll be back next weekend for another round.
Like it now that you can take carts into the parking lot.
Best kept secret
I can’t believe there weren’t more people on this course. It’s in great shape (some of the back tee boxes need some nurturing) and has one of the most creative layouts you’ll play in So Cal. The price can’t be beat ($23 GolfNow Hot Deals) and I only saw two other groups all day. I hadn’t played it in a few years, but quickly remembered why I loved it so much. PLAY OAK VALLEY at any opportunity - you won’t be disappointed.
Great Condition
The course is in great condition with the greens rolling true. In the summer heat, it’s great pace of play.
Just excellent
All I have to say is play the course, tee box, fairways and greens are in excellent conditions.. if your a 15 handicap you will struggle.. if your a single digit handicap your welcome the challenge and appreciate the course...

Great conditions
Fairways and greens are in great condition, especially compared to most of the courses in the inland empire. Can’t wait to get back and play again.

What an awesome course, thank you for the well kept masterpiece. The T-box needs a little love but the fairways, greens and over all mystic was well maintained. Shot a 68 and couldn’t ask for a better conditioned course to play. Slight wind helped keep it cool during the summer.

Greens are pure and course a real challenge
A great golfing experience
Driving by this golf course many times finally got chance to play it today. Staffs are friendly, course condition is perfect, pace is adequate, rangers are watching the flow. A great course and I will definitely play here again!
Very accommodating
There was a big youth tournament preceding our tee time. Paul, the pro, adapted our time, told us we could play front nine twice if play was slow. Checked on us, really helpful and kind.
Course in Great Shape
It had been awhile since I played Oak Valley and I was very pleased with the course condition. Great fairways and the greens were great, although I bit slower than I remember.. 3 hours for a late Friday tee time can't be beat, although we did play through 2 slow groups.
