About
This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.
Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.
"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

Golfer Reviews
Decent Shape but Slow!!
Course in decent shape, enjoyable challenging layout. But we ran into 3-4 groups who did not play ready golf or too teed from too far back. Watching green play with golfers lining up their puts one at a time and fairway "Honors" was agonizing: took over 5 hours and we were allowed to "play thru" 3 groups.
Be ready to break a club or two!
Play your correct tee box. You might reconsider your love of this game. Enjoy!!
Interesting Layout - Great Scenery
Overall the course was in decent shape - the fairways were recovering from overseeding and the greens consistent and quick. Lots of interesting holes and elevation changes. Would definitely play again.
Great Course - but weather beaten
Enjoyed the course but expected better overall conditions. Would like to play once again when it improves.
Grate course layout
I had to get my tee shot onto fairway to enjoy this course.
The rough around the green was very heavy and the green was very fast, which really confused me.
I’d like to try this course again, if I have the chance.
still not great value for money
Don’t pay rack rate. Very cool layout but crappy teeboxes and overall very medium
conditions. Carts have no GPS but do have speed governors and restricted areas. Carts are required as well, which sucks for those in good enough shape to walk.
Beautiful course
Enjoyed this course immensely, intermediate level golfer.
With that being said this course is difficult enough to challenge individuals of all levels. Greens are great, fairways are In great condition, and the rough was rough. Don’t miss the fairway, it’ll be a long day. I will be returning without hesitation.
Much improved
The course has more grass on it than I have seen in 13 years. They must have overseeded this year. Greens were great. The tees loaded with thick grass they have not cut in a week. I use a 3.25 inch tee and had to barely putbit in the ground in order to hit driver without grass behind the ball. The rough everwhere was unplayable. Lost balls just off the fairway. Not fun but the bright side is when its cut it will be the best conditions ever seen at this plays. Fairways like Sierra lakes
"Challenging Fun at Oak Valley Golf Course!"
I recently played a round at Oak Valley Golf Course and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience overall. For the price, this course offers great value with a fun and engaging layout that keeps you on your toes. There are definitely some challenging holes that will test your skills, especially if you stray from the fairways. If you find yourself in the long rough, prepare for a search—losing a ball is a common occurrence!
Hitting out of the rough can be quite the adventure, adding an extra layer of excitement to the game. My only complaint was that the greens were a bit bumpy from aeration and sanding, and they felt soft and slow. Additionally, the tee boxes were a little longer than usual due to overseeding. But to be fair, this is pretty typical for courses this time of year.
Despite these minor issues, I had a great time and will definitely be back to enjoy another round at Oak Valley. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a challenging and fun day on the course!
Good Sunday
Good overall day. Off course amenities are slim and fairways haven’t but cut in days. But fairways and greens were on par with other top clubs in the area. Greens ran true!
