This Course Blows
The fairways are non existent and truly awful. The greens were in good condition but other than that this course is terrible and so not recommend to anybody
Absolutely Atrocious
This was far and away the worst golf course I have ever played, and I'm not one to limit myself to "good" courses. To the contrary, I rarely play anything other than muni courses like Balboa and Mission Bay. Those courses make Chula Vista look like Pebble Beach and Augusta. The fairways are often completely barren of grass, so you're rewarded with a good drive with a second shot off of hard pan dirt. After a few holes, everyone in the group started kicking their ball over to the nearest patch of green. Really nothing good to be said of this course aside from price, and the greens are notably the strongest part of the course. Still, this will be the last round I ever play here unless there is a dramatic turnaround.

Course in ROUGH Shape
While the greens were in decent shape, the fairways were almost nonexistent. Drives down the middle might end up on dirt patches. Have never played a course in such poor condition.
Horrible management!!
I booked a tee time tine today in the am and it turns out they have a tournament at the same time, no heads up or warning about it, was able to book tee times at the time of the tournament. The players who were already playing got kicked out of the course for the tournament to start. Horrible management ruined a lot of peoples day and they couldnt care less.
Online Rates underpriced
Was sold a different rate online and arrived at golf course and was charged double from what was said online
One day this place will be awesome
Tee boxes and fairways need grass. Bunkers need care. The greens are awesome and roll true. City is lagging to fix these problems. It’s a muni so it is what it is. P.S. does it really matter what I write here? Is anyone reading this? Long live Chula!!!
Pace of play is terrible
Course layout is good. Greens are decent. No marshall seen anywhere. Took 3 1/2 hours to play the front 9. I left after because I wasn’t going to wait another 3+ hours to play. It’s a shame this course isn’t better. They try to justify the terrible fairways and pace of play by their price. Spend the extra $20-30 to play somewhere else.
