Slow Poke
We didn't have a good experience at this course. The starter allowed 5some to play that had a 10 yr old playing for the first time. We waited on the first tee for 15 minutes in order for us to hit. The young man had hit the ball 10 times by the time we tee'd off. Horrible pace!

LOTS OF INTERESTING HOLES ON THIS COURSE,SLOW PLAY DUE TO THE LOCALS WALKING ON AT A GREAT RATE.I STILL LIKE THIS COURSE ALOT AND WLL BE BACK SOON.

This is the second time i have played here. It was a monday holiday. There was not as many people as I expected. we only had to wait a couple times and where never pushed. Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable day.
PACE OF PLAY IS TO SLOW!
Staff needs to do something about the pace of play. Everyone complaines about it and the staff seems oblivious to it. It's a shame because it is otherwise a fun course and good value. I would have a much easier time getting my friends to play if they knew it wouldn't take 4-5 hours to finish.
Course overworked
The course has a good layout, but it could stand a lot more work to get it in decent shape. I assume that is because it gets a lot of play! The greens were okay, but the fairways leave a lot to be desired and aesthetically, the course just does not look good.
I would play this course with my friends.
This course has many nice features and challenges for the average and advanced player, the greens were not in great shape they needed work.

Decent cource for the price
I have played this course many times and never had any problems, this last round was not enjoyable with the ambassador pushing us to go faster because the people behind were complaining the first 5 holes and a gap in front of us. we finished the course in 4 hrs, which is super fast for this course. It was not out fault that the people behind us liked to complain and that people stopped to eat at the turn hence the gap in front. Complained to manager ( supper courteous ) and offered a free round.
even though this round was not good, I have had good experiences here every other time.
the chula vista golf course is great for a whole day of golf game.
I highly recommended this golf course to any level of golf players..
If you want to "rip" your driver, this is a good course to do so.
Chula's play has recently picked up, I have not had to wait between shots. I play in the after noon 12-2 and have had no trouble with pace or getting a starting time. A good value, this course allows you to "work" the ball.
Back 9 needs improvement
The course was average for the price. Our only issues were the back 9 were in poor condition and there were no signs to show you were the holes were. Front 9 were ok. Back 9 were more like playing on a high school football field. Also the greens had some weird type of sand/dirt on them. Made putting difficult.
Positives: Bar was good. Staff friendly. Not crowded at all. Water guy came around a lot.

I had a great day! The Golf was great, the Weather Beautiful!. A 10 for Golfing in San Diego! The staff was very friendly, and helpful. The Course was well maintained and played much shorter than the registered length!

challenging if out of bound but would recommend a nine hole for new people before doing 18.
Keep your head on the swivel
Golf balls were flying at us from every direction and no one bothered to yell "FORE!" So be wary. Expect to get paired with some interesting characters if playing twilight rates. Not the prettiest or most inspiring track, but offered some unique challenges.
One of the best bang for the buck courses
Like most Muni's Chula sometimes stacks the tee times. BUT, the nice thing is they have Marshall's who actually keep the pace of play up to a reasonable click. For that I applaud this great course!

It was crowded with players and we had to wait at every hole and the so called "Course Ambassador" said he could not do any thing as it is a busy day!!
That was the reason I had not gone to play there for almost one year. Back nine people are hitting from other fairways on to yours and not even earning you "FORE"
Good greens, lots of roll on the fairway
