First country club in San Diego
Courses is great pace was good. Greens protected by bunkers on most holes definitely a challenging course . A must try course if you get the chance :)
WORST COURSE EVER
I play all over the country and this was my worst experence ever, this course is in very poor condition. Bare dirt in every fairway and mud in some of the others. Bunkers are dirt or mud. The layout of the back nine has you ducking incoming shots from the last hole. I urge Golf Now to remove this course from their listings.
I would not recommend
This is definitely a course I would not recommend to anyone.
Good but tooo many walkers
always enjoy course except when too many walkers. maybe you should give recommendations as to how to walk the course when playing
fair ways and greens repair
I have played this course approx. . 10 times ?? the fairways need help and some of the greens need help and others are in good shape . The staff are nice and friendly and the price is affordable . But I have played other courses because of the shape your course is in . I still will come back and I hope your greens keeper goes to work !!!
Bad golf good time
Had a great time golfing with uncles from Northern California, but we played terribly. I think that everyone was watching the masters, the pace was great and the course was in decent condition. Staff was very attentive and welcoming.
Average course, slow playing time
I played on Sunday at 9:00am and ran into some slow play ahead of me. Some of the greens were half air-raided but under normal conditions would be ok. The course is pretty straight and flat and runs along a lot of running trails and rec parks, so it can get noisy.
Interesting course to play.
Enjoyed playing here. Nice variety to the holes. Enjoyed being able to walk the course. Thought the fairways were a bit rough in places. I also thought that $3.00 for a Coke from the refreshment cart was a bit steep. Enjoyed playing with the 2 men we were partnered with.
Price is Right
My wife and I wanted to play an inexpensive warm up course at the beginning of the vacation( snowbirds). At $21 including a cart for a non resident, it is hard to complain about anything. Our round took 5:15, but in fairness, we were behind two tournaments. Course conditions were average for a municipal course with one half of the green punched. The normal portion of the green, I would rate as above average for a muni and quick, 10.5 stimp.
The holes are pretty non descript and a fair test without being punitive. The carts are electric and excellent with auto emerg brake. Staff is excellent and helpful.
I would definitely go back for the same price if the greens were in normal conditions.
Shared cart again
I got stuck in a cart with someone I did not know who drank whiskey, smoked cigarettes and wanted to quit after the 15th hole. Golfnow please specify the shared cart rule so I can choose a course that will let me have my own cart when going as a single.
Course is looking better
Long course, improved greens, and pace of play was faster than expected. This course is doing a better job on improving their greens, I was somewhat impressed. This course is famous for super slow play but it was not the case this time around. I will play again and see if it was just a fluke.
old
the course was not well maintained, it was only worth $20.
Course is a long Muni
Good enough to practice before playing Torrey South Cours. 18 hole to much Duck and birds dirt from approached on the green to the 140 yds.
Has the ability of being a good golf course
The course has some nice holes. Course would be a good track with a little maintenance. Drought has something to do with conditions, but spotty grass throughout the course could easily be fixed. The price is correct for the condition of the course. Uneven tee boxes.
Best golf bargain in San Diego
Every thing at Chula Vista golf course is at least pretty good It's one of the few local courses where you will probably use all the clubs in your bag. My favorite feature is the five par five holes on the course. Right-handed slicers beware: this place has trouble on the right side of almost every hole. Stay away!
Chula is OK ?!
Greens receptive and relatively smooth, fairways were thin and tight. Some of the tee boxes very uneven.
Greens are great for still being winter
The greens were a 7 out 10 but needed rolling flat around the cup as in most muni courses . The food at the turn is ok but very nice lady.
A long open course with a few challenges but fun.
Can be very crowded on the front nine but will smooth out.
Triple Backups
They booked two seperate tournaments in the morning. Our tee time was at 11:30, and it took us 3.5 hours to play the front nine. Triple backup on all the pars three, double backup on the other holes. We left at the turn.
The only positive thing I can say is the green were in great shape.
I wont play here agin.
nice public course
golf now gives you a good price on this course take it. try to play before 11 to beat slower players who usually come out there after 11. I have played this course about dozen times and every time I get those later times 5 hour is the norm. course can be tricky when wind picks up with some of the narrow fairways. Think about club selection on short par 4 and you will be rewarded.
