Oceanside Golf Course

It's a munincipal course, and lives up to the image. Very casual. Nice track, but winter conditions (dormant fairway grass). Greens were in pretty good shape. Good driving range. Very nice staff. Nice bar with food, but nothing fancy. I will play here again.

good course for the money. challenging holes to keep better players on their toes.

Good price and it can get busy for that reason. There was a wait on the front 9. The fairways are not well maintained. The staff though were nice and accommodating.

It's possible it was just that particular day, but it literally took our foursome an hour and 45 minutes to play the first 4 holes. I called and ended up getting a rain check for another round but 9 hour pace of play is not something I'm interested in.

I'm all for finding a decent course at a reasonable price but not when it's that slow. I love golf and it takes all the fun out of it when it's that slow

The green fee was quite reasonable maybe due to slow pace of the market. For a municipal course, overall condidition was agreeable. A few murderous par-4 holes were quite interesting, e.g., an innocent looking short par-4 (#11?) against a slope felt like a cliff.

Holes 12 and 13 are always a surprise. Course has enough variety to challenge any golfer.

Greens were pretty quick, Well mowed and consistent. Tee boxes and fairways need a little help, but are acceptable for late November.
Tee time of 11:07, but started 11:15. Played front in 2 hours, but a little back-up caused a 2:20 back 9.
We will play it again.

Interesting course nestled next to vacant rolling hills with river/drainage running through course. Its at a good price point for weekend golf. The fairways were however VERY dry, with areas of thick like mesh grass. The greens were in good condition. For those that prefer minimally maintained dry fairways, than this is your course. I would not recommend this course without first divulging the fairway conditions.

One of the best layouts in so cal. The HUGE problem has always been that the management will not cut the course correctly. They will not allow the natural folage to grow in between each hole to allow this cousre to DOMINATE competition. Instead, they run mowers over it turning it into a ugly dead hard nasty area's and ruining the look's of the course. When someone finally learns to let the area's between each hole grow high they will have more time to spend on the playing areas. When they learn this Oceanside will be one of the finest courses in the area. If they don't, our group will outbid them at the next chance we get and finally run it correctly. You don't fight nature.

Course was in decent shape. Staff friendly. For the price you can't go wrong.

While the condition of the fairways is mostly not great, the greens, for the most part, are fast, true and in good shape; which to me, is more important. Good practice facilities, helpful, friendly staff. If you are looking for a good muni experience, the value-to-dollar ratio is high here.

Played here many years, Greens are in best condition ever.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The course was in the best shape i've seen in the five or six years I've been playing it. I enjoyed it very much.

Was put out as a single. Had a threesome in front of me. When I found a foursome behind me, the threesome was not agreeable to letting me play in their group. They were playing a game and it would disrupt their rhythm. Ended up being a six hour round. Really? It would have been nice to have known the entire course was being aerated that day.

Just visiting the area and wanted to get out and play with my son. The staff was quite friendly and we had no problem getting on the course, we actually got to go out early. Thought the rate from Golfnow was very reasonable.

Same old Oceanside. Nice layout. Greens in good shape. Fairways avg. Nothing special. Course is worth $20 to $25.
Not a penny more. Uncrowded on weekdays.

Played on a Sat morning at 7:15. Round took 4:20. Players have the option to walk as well. The course was in fairly decent shape for a municipal. Layout was fairly fun as there were several doglegs a couple of elevation changes. Water came into play for at least 5 holes. Greens and greenside bunkers were also in pretty good shape as well.

I would play here again.

this course is close to my relative's houses and I have played it many times due to proximity. front nine, you have to know where to hit the fairway if you want any chance at par. dog legs can be cut on 4th par 5 and 6th par 4 for easy scoring opportunity. 7th best to hit your 200 yard shot and not try to cut the dogleg left. 9th hole another dog leg left 3 wood safe shot, driver long will take you past fairway. back nine 12 and 13 are i consider mickey mouse with 12th 305 up hill and 13th 105 downhill after these holes you have to be long for remaining holes. i am solid 4 handicap in my 50s former college player. play this course for the location only.

My husband stopped playing because of his back problem, but would like to come out with me and walk. He and I take turn to walk, so we walk about 9 hole each. And the manager asked me to pay $10.00 for my husband accompanying me. I told him that we could have another
rider in our cart because only one of me and my husband ride taking turn. He said the spectators have to pay $10.- no matter what. No more Oceanside course for me.

Course was in good condition, especially the greens. Some fairway defects, but nothing major. Medium difficulty course. Very friendly staff.
