Great mix up of holes
Fun course, some technique required on a few holes while others are geared for crushing it off the tee with wide open fairways. Excellent 13th hole always fun to hit so far down to the green. Good staff, nice range, watch out for all the darn bee hives lol otherwise love playing this course.
Fun track; great value
Very pleased with course condition for price. Golf now hot deal was like playing for a cart fee. Weather was outstanding with light ocean breezes. My partner and I played with a very considerate, friendly couple making the round even more enjoyable.
Good value, fun track
Originally was going to play Pendleton but got a Golf Now hot deal at Oceanside GC I couldn't pass up. Deal did not disappoint, felt like I was playing for a cart fee. Course was in good shape if you played from fairway thru green. Rough was challenging. I'd definitely return.
Out at first light.
The course is fun and challenging. Pace of play was 2.5 hours. Course in pretty good shape except for bunkers.
Great features
Love playing this course. Fun and challenging with very reasonable rates.
Oceanside
Got there an hour early to check and hit some balls. Wife was dropping me off early, but the staff guy would not give me a cart to drive early with plenty park to the side so I had to pack my bag all the way to the driving range then back it all the way back!!! Not cool? The coarse needs to be kept up a little better!!! Coming down from NorCal I was expecting top of the line coarse but it wasn't!!!
Great course, even better staff
This public course is well maintained, the staff is friendly and the greens are fast.
For me, thats the perfect combination.
Nice round for value for public golf course the recent rains in San Diego area had the course in decent shape. Fast pace of play the greens are fast and being in Foothills makes putting a real treat. Overall nice course from back tees it is all a 14 handicap player wants.
A couple of really nice holes
We played for $13 so it's pretty hard to complain. Tee boxes and fairways in a little rough shape. Greens were excellent. Very fast and hard to read
Municipal Course with Snobby Attitude
Since we were unfamiliar with the area, we arrived at the course way before our tee time, but were told (with attitude) that there was no way we could go out earlier (unless we wanted to pay more). We opted to use the time at the driving range and putting green. The pro shop guy chose not to point out that there was also chipping practice spot on site. We got the definite impression that Golf Now bookings were really not welcome here. Locals preferred.
While we waited, we watched empty tee times and singles go out. And then a group of 5 was sent out before us, so our 3-some waited at every hole. The local fellow who had joined us stopped after 9 because it was so slow. He also mentioned the poor attitude of the manager.
As for the course ... It was okay for a city course. The fairways weren't too tight. The back 9 is more challenging. However, they have put in gravel waste areas in the front of most tee boxes and along the sides. Not sure why - water saving perhaps? But it seems a bit over-done.
In summary, the course was okay but the attitude was poor, which did put a damper on our experience here. We definitely would not go back (which we think was the goal). Golf Now should mention that this is a municipal course.
Good greens!
The rain has helped this course tremendously. The greens are rolling great after all the rain and their not slow or bumpy at all. There is still some standing water and you may get a mud ball or two in the fairways from all the rain we've had. But truly worth the price due to the greens. Well kept and pure roll is the gem if the course. I'll be back soon!
Soggy
might want to wait a week or two to play. Heavy rains have made fairways very soggy and clean and place may be 10 yards and you MIGHT find relief.
Greens stellar... it's just getting there.
Normal conditions are fine and I do play course frequently. Just sayin wait till it dries out... I am
Nice views, greens are fun
My wife and I went out the day after New Years. We enjoyed the lay out and some of the views were amazing. The course was in good condition and the greens rolled true and fast. It was busy so our round was about 4.5 hours but it was a nice pace to enjoy the day. If your a golfer that is trying to power through, this is probably not your course.
Not worth it.
Course conditions alone were under par. I should have paid a little more to play Arrowwood or Camp Pen.. The staff was great, we arrived right at our tee time and got no issues.
Good value...traditional style
Cart and golf $22....how can you go wrong. Outside of 2 holes that have extreme elevation changes(lots of fun) the holes are traditional and the fairways are quite flat. Greens were in good shape and quick. Pro shop guys were helpful and we played in about 3.5 hours. The course is walkable,a lot of people were doing that.
A neat golf course
Enjoyed our day. The course was a neat find. Greens were in very good shape, but the fairways spotty. Terrific layout. Staff is outstanding.
