Oceanside Golf Course

I really liked this course considering the fact that my wallet was only $27 lighter. You get what you pay for. The greens are fine, the ball rolls fairly true, not a lot of ball marks, or damaged greens. The fairways are mostly nice, the holes are entertaining (up, down, left right), and the bunkers...well the bunkers are awful (i used harsher terms but GolfNow won't let me submit it). Zero sand basically, just play it like a chip shot and you'll be fine. Overall, I will play here again.

Interesting layout and the greens were in good condition. Lots of ground under repair on the fairways but overall not too bad.

It was my first time playing there and you couldn't pay me to play there again. It was like playing in a dust bowl. The guy in the pro shop was unfriendly.

If you hit your ball in the rough it is very hard to find it . Very sparse turf and the ball hits the hard dirt and who knows where it will go. What little bit of turf they have in the rough is very tall and hard to find your ball. Keep it in the fairways and you will be fine. Tees fairways and greens where in good shape.

Fun little course lots of dog legs very few straight holes. if you hit the ball long there's not a whole lot of drivers on this course. Since there are so many Dog legs the course plays longer than the yardage on the card because you're heading a lot more irons or hybrids off the tee. the course is in decent conditionand fun for a higher handicap player.

I've played this course many, many times. It's in about the best shape I've seen it, with the greens being firm and on the faster side, and the fairways looking better all the time. It's really improved. BUT, I had the WORST hot dog I've EVER had, BAR NONE. If it's soggy and gross, don't serve it! How can you ruin a hot dog?

Nice location for play on San Diego weekend get-away.

Took my dad here for a Father's Day round. The greens were really good, but the fairways were only o.k. The rough (where there was actually grass!) was thread bare & very weedy. Overall, it's a fun track but for 50 bucks, I'd go elsewhere. Staff was very nice.

Came down to oceanside for father's day weekend. My son in-law and I found a tee time on golf now on friday night and played saturday morning. The course was nice a little dry in some areas. But none the less ok course.

fairways are lush good lies but very little roll. often being on the wrong side leaves blocked shot.
had 1215 tee time got there 1 1/2 hr early cause ther were no traffic delays from san clemente. staff made a point of saying we had to wait until booked time since it was a "free"tee slot and since the course doesnt get any money we had to wait and couldnt go out early even with openings.

For a municipal course, certainly one of the best in San Diego County. Pace of play is average, unless you get stuck behind the occasional single golfer with their kids, which just so happened on this round. From 100 yds in course is in great shape. Tee boxes in good condition. Really tests your short game and drive accuracy. Play about twice a month and will continue to do so as the conditions have been getting much better over the last 6 months.

Greens are fast and true. Condition around greens is markedly improved. The fairways and tee boxes, which used to be a sore spot for the course for many years, are getting better and better. Arguably one of the best golf values in the county.

played on a Sunday morning and the price was fairly high for this course, close to $50. It left a lot to be desired. There are gopher holes every where, I even lost a ball in one. The score card and marking leaves a lot to be desired, if you don't know the course you are just hitting blind off some of the tee boxes. If I go back it will be on a weekday afternoon rate just to see if I can do better now that I know where to aim my drives.

Fairways are in poor shape, the greens are good. Some of the fairways need to have trees cut back.

It was terrible, the fairways were not cut dirt spots everywhere. The course was in bad shape, for the price we could of played somewhere else. I'm not playing there again!

Nice layout for muni, condition was poor. Staff was very friendly. Greens were sanded about 10 days before I played, fairway conditions were poor. Back nine had some good holes.

Good public course with reasonable rates. Course in good shape and play moved well with very little waiting.

I am a 3 handicap and haven't played Oceanside in quite awhile. Despite the punched greens the course layout was great as I remembered it. With a little course maintenance it could be a fantastic course. Lots of challenging holes and beautiful scenery. Lots of water, hills and trees. It has all the things that can make a round very good or bad real quick. You must keep your focus and enjoy everything around you and you will have a great round of golf

Greens were good, fairways were fair, pace of play was okay once we got by the foursome ahead of us. You have flat shots, elevated tees and elevated greens which adds to the challenge and makes the course interesting.

Inexpensive local type course. Fun to play, but not too difficult. Recommend a cart for seniors due to a really steep hill. Would be a good course for a beginner due to the different characteristics (dog legs, sand, big hill shot, etc.) Staff was very friendly.
