Oceanside Golf Course

Very nice muni.. Windy in the afternoon this time of year along the coast.. I was pleasantly surprised at how few players were out on a Sunday after with such great green fees. There was the occasional big gunfire noise from neighboring Camp Pendleton.. But not too bad. A challenging course.. fun to play. :-)

Great course, great staff, excellent condition, good value. What more can I say.

Played once last year and vowed to never go back. Had played often in years past and it was an ok course with good value for the money. Heard from friends it had improved since last year, so tried again and they were right. Conditions on the course are much improved. We have played twice this year. Still good value - but sometimes play is slow.

For the price best deal in the area. Good practice areas. Very dry at the moment. Makes the greens fast. In it's present condition lots of roll that shortens up the long holes.

The Good: Some nice scenery around the course with some dog leg holes. the Bad: Most all fairways were dryed out and brown and greens looked good but were like putting on concrete. Really hard greens and balls would not hold. so hard some balls couldn't make ball marks, LOL! The Ugly: Marshall warned us about our pace but did not take into account we were behind several two-somes. Made us let the group behind us play through at the turn, then we ended up waiting for them for the entire back nine. Funny thing, we never saw him again.
For the money, not a good value. Won't go back anytime soon.

I only played the front nine, which had some interesting holes (like the long curving par 5).

The greens were in good shape, but the fairways were not. Evidently they were not being watered because of the drought.

Fairways are dry due to drought in the area, greens are in great shape.

Was a cool wet day. There were very few golfers on the course and we did18 in 3 hours. Winter conditions so the fairways were not great. Greens were in good condition. Would recommend this course to others.

Weather was great. Pace of play at leisure thru the front nine, regular pace thereafter. Tee boxes were adequate, fairways maintained, greens a little fast.

Fairways were in pretty bad condition. Lots of bald spots. Greens very small,but in good condition.Lots of water ,but if you hit it straight,no problem.
It was a very different type of course from what i normally play,so it was a challenge.

In general it is a good course, but lack of sign showing distance, no sign where to turn cart. I do not think the staff is nice to everyone.

The course layout has some very good challenges. The fairways and greens are well maintained, but don't venture too far beyond the start of the rough.

I haven't played Oceanside this whole past year. It used to be my home course playing 30-40 times per year. It was nice to come back and play. Some of the water holes need attention. They don't have water in them. But the green were very nice and the price was excellent. You can use all your clubs and there are several holes that are demanding and a couple of ones that are semi-pushovers. Overall a good experience. I'll be back.

You will use most clubs in your bag. Nice mix of long and short 3's and 4's. Par 5's are all birdie holes. For a muni it is in reasonable condition. Greens are generally nice to putt and seem to run true.

It works for the price and it's local. This is like a mom & pop course.

This is a challenging course for women particularly from the gold tees - over 5400 yards! The placement of tee shots is key since many of the fairways tend to slope in either direction. The back nine offers spectacular views of the surrounding areas and tests golfers drives and second shots on long par 4's. The back country gives golfers chances to spot coyotes on the rugged terrain.

the course has been maintained real well! once the greens grow back from the punching they will be in great shape! pace of play was good! a little over 4 hrs.
