Galleon/Brigantine at Shipyard Golf Club
About
The Galleon/Brigantine Course at Shipyard Golf Club combines two of the three nine-hole golf courses at the club. Galleon/Brigantine has a rating of 72.7, with a slope of 133 from the championship tees.
The original nine holes - Galleon - meander through large oak and tall pines. Accurate placement of approach shots into heavily guarded greens is necessary on this nine.
Designed by Willard Byrd and built in 1982, alligators sun themselves along the scenic, water hazard-filled Brigantine nine holes. With slight doglegs and well-placed bunkers, this golf course requires shot making and a good short game.

Slow play ruined the day
Im all for family golf but lets not allow grandpa to teach junior how to play the game when there are 400 golfers playing that day.
Nice course, nice fellow golfers
the starter Don seemed a bit harried, uptight, and overwhelmed with workload
Not worth $170
I was pretty surprised at how poor the fairway conditions were after paying $170 for the round. The price was comparable to the Palmetto Dunes courses we also played, but the conditions were no where near as good.
Good course
This course is set up well. Y the more you play the course, the more appealing it is. Overall, the conditions tee to green are great. There were a couple of greens that were not a 5, but they were still good. I will go back.
Fairways and tee boxes need work
At any price, many fairways were in terrible condition. Many tee boxes were totally unacceptable and hard to find a place to tee your ball up.
Especially at a corporate rate of $130 each, I cannot recommend this course.
However, the Greene’s are in great shape
Test but fair
Great design with room to miss but also some very challenging hole layouts. Tees range from 7,000 to 5,000 to make it playable for all skill levels. Greens were in good shape. Enjoyed the experience and would play this one again next time on HH.
Shipyard Golf
Good course, reasonably priced. NO driving range because the picker wasn’t working. Except that the picker was out picking up balls. Hmm. Greens were really nice and good bunkers. Fairways are a bit tough though. Very thin grass.
