Brigantine/Clipper at Shipyard Golf Club

The improvement in conditions of this course is remarkable.

The course was in great condition for February. Greens were in perfect condition and rolled fast. Range, putting green, and chipping green were also very good. Our tee time was at 12:28. No one was in front or behind on the front 9. The back 9 pace was pretty slow. Our round still only took the average 4 hours. Would definitely recommend!

The conditions of this facility have vastly improved.

Overall the course was great for the time of year. However don't quite understand why it was cart path only. Not wet and not too hot..

As such it took 2 1/2 hrs to play 9.

The staff were fabulous, especially the guy outside who validated that I paid. He gave me a full run down on the 18 holes. He was a thorough gentleman. I’ll go again because of him.

The pro-shop was busy but took time out to talk to each customer.

Bathrooms were clean.

Really enjoyed playing this course today-. They were in midst of overseeing so vary path only bit greens were fantastic. We played in 3:50 and and rarely saw another person. Course seems tight but there are nail out spots. Some nice risk reward holes and fun layout. Will come back

This was a great course for this average golfer. I never felt pushed, and didn’t really have to wait. The course was well managed, well maintained and the staff was great. The pro shop was also well stocked.

I would play Shipyard again. The entire staff was friendly, the course was fun and picturesque, and the course was in very good condition. I felt that I got my money’s worth and that I had chosen the right course to play near to where I was staying

Group in front of us very slow. Many course officials on course but no one enforced pace of play on them.

I have played this course before. It is a very good course. However, there has been a lot of rain on Hilton Head Island and the courses are very wet, cart path only. This course has 27 holes. One of the 9's was closed, it was under water.

However, based on past experience, I would recommend this course. Just wait for it to dry out.

Excellent setting among the palmettos, pines, and oaks with Spanish moss and lots of wildlife. Very serene. Greens, fairways, and tees, very good even with a ton of rain.

Played Shipyard 35 years ago and it was a fabulous resort. Time has taken its toll here. Cart paths are crumbled and need resurfacing. Greens were punched and slow which is understandable.

I called the pro shop before booking to ask if they had a shower facility and towels. I was told yes by the individual answering my call. Unfortunately, when I arrived I found the showers were not functional and the water was even turned off.

The clubhouse looks old and worn. The entire facility needs a total remake.

The course was in excellent condition. The pace of play was good and the staff was very friendly. I would play there again.

Great course, great staff, everybody was super friendly and the pace of play was steady!
