Must play

Great layout and play the correct tee box because of the doglegs.. No blind tee shots but you must get into the dogleg to have a clean shot at the green. The greens were excellent, firm, very fast and keep it below the hole if possible. Fairways great and a little tight, bunkers very good. A very good test of golf through all 14 clubs.

Great course

1st time playing. Played with my son and grandson and all had a great day. Fairways lined with trees make for a challenging round. Small greens and nice targets. Would definitely recommend this course. The staff was exceptional.

Golden Bear doesn’t disappoint

We had a great time at this course. Come with your ‘A Game’ because the course requires precise shots. The front nine had plenty of water! I loved the challenge. My wife loved the red tees because they are fair. We played the course right at four hours, which was below their projection. Thanks for a great time!

Very disappointed

Left a review on Google. Very disappointed at the course. Shabby tee boxes. Marshalls did not enforce the 4 hrs 20 min round at all. 5 hour round behind some terrible golfers. Sand traps were like cement sand.

On the good side the pro shop guy was awesome as was the cart lady as well.

For a Golden Bear named course I would say this definitely was a disappointing day.

Golden Bear

I like the course. Not to challenging but not easy either. You did not have to have played the course before to see if there were any hidden obstacles. Good layout. Very friendly staff. I’ll play this again

Range closed Thursday 12-3

Traveled to the area for the first time and wanted to play some golf. I was hoping for something hit the range but o warm up and try to get my driver to go straight for the narrow fairways but for whatever reason they choose every Thursday from noon to 3pm to close their range for maintenance. The clubhouse said it’s the only time it’s closed all week. Not knowing that before hand and consequently raw dogging the course without proper warm warm up impacted my performance and experience. Had I known the range was going to be closed I would have picked a different tee time or found another course. Just sharing this for anyone like me who needs a proper range session before going out to play.

A good choice for a public facility

So, with the drought ongoing in the south, this course was in good shape. The greens were in good condition, as were the fairways. I would come back here again.
