About
River Falls Golf Plantation in Duncan is a Gary Player Signature Course. Its location makes it convenient for meeting up with people coming from Asheville, Columbia, Atlanta, or Charlotte. The golf course is also just minutes away from downtown Greenville. The narrow layout will test the accuracy and shot making abilities of even the best golfers. Rolling hills provide a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Water hazards come into play frequently and there are also strategically placed bunkers framing the greens and fairways. Player crafted a golf course that is both formidable and scenic. The abundance of mature trees helped him achieve this. He carefully wove River Falls Golf Plantation through the mature forests, allowing the trees to surround the holes, giving each a secluded and peaceful feel.

Fun course
Course is not long. Greens are excellent. Tees and fairways good. Winds through a nice neighborhood. Passed two nice young fellas on 3 and never saw another player so caught it on a good day. If you don’t keep it in play it’ll be a long day. Great layout.

Mixed Bag
Course is beautiful and in great shape. Holes are challenging - bring extra balls.
Pace of play is terrible. Have played there several times this year and there’s always an issue with pace. Starts to pick up around the 6th and then gets ridiculous on the back nine. 2-3 groups deep at each hole, just waiting. Forget having any rhythm to your game. Have not seen a ranger any time I’ve been there.
Challenging Course, Solid Rates, Poor Pace of Play
Overall, we really enjoyed playing this course. Being a Gary Player course is going to challenge all skill levels of play, especially not knowing the course for the first time.
Overall, all of the tee boxes and greens were in great shape overall. The fairways were well kept and the rough was well manicured (and pretty thick and challenging if you ask me).
The greens were fairly hard and rolled fairly fast, especially after the morning dew dried off.
Our biggest complaint was the pace of play. It took us over 5 hours on a Monday with a 1040 tee time.
This won't deter me from playing here a second time, but I hope the next time the pace of play is much better!
Great Course That Needs a Marshall
It is a good layout. Greens were great. Nice fairways. We were given a rain check because play was so slow. 12 holes completed in 3.5 hours. They need to pay a marshall.
Course was closed! NEED REFUND!!
Course was closed because of hurricane Helene and we didn’t get to play. Now I’m wondering how I get my money back for a round of golf for two people paid up front that we didn’t get to play!
Interesting Round
Lots of Hills, Water….interesting course to play when you’re from the Deep South East with the hills. Looking forward to playing it again!
Always Challenging
This was my 2nd time playing this course and it was as challenging as the 1st time. Greens got a little crusty later in the round, but course was in good shape.
Water
I was surprised that there were No water stations on the course. it was a warm to hot day.
Good course but needs water
I like this course but a tournament had us waiting on for most of the back nine. The real problem however, was that there was no water out on the course on the day where it got up to about 93°. We were so dehydrated and tired by the 15th hole that I was just ready to have the round over.
Nice course
Would recommend playing this course with someone who has knowledge of where to hit it on every tee box. The course was in really good shape
There was a threesome in front that played slow and would not let a single play thru. If there are no rangers monitoring the course maybe this should be stressed at checking.
