River Falls Plantation

The pace of play was soooo slow. I’m not a fast player but this was terrible. The back tees were rightfully placed in the farthest back position but the foliage overgrowth in front of the back boxes was so tall it could actually contact the ball on take off. The rest of the course was very nice and the staff were very courteous. Course needs some rangers and the course superintendent to round on the course for weekend play. Great layout and really fair price.

The course was in OK condition but several Greens were patched with sod

Played my first round at River Falls this weekend after reading several reviews on the course that made me want to play there. The layout it awesome. Almost a mountain course feel. A lot of elevation changes. Long drives between holes and each hole is isolated from each other. The course is pretty tight both around the fairways and greens. A lot of time you miss the fairway or green and your ball is completely gone. The course is one of the more challenging ones that I’ve played in a while. The course conditions were just average in my opinion. Greens were firm and smooth and fast except for 2 that were being reworded. Fairways were mown but the clippings have not been blown off of them. They also hadn’t striped the fairways. Rough was very thick Bermuda grass. Easy to lose your ball in. Again the clippings hadn’t been blown off. The tees were chewed up some. Especially on the holes where you would hit iron off the tees (this includes some par 4s on this varied layout). To me it looked like it had rained a lot 2 weeks ago and play and mowing had been allowed when it was too wet. Then this past week it was hot and dry and everything baked. Not at all a bad course. I’d play again. Especially for the $35 price I paid on a Saturday. But it’s not the top end course that I thought it was-at least not right now.

Great course with a very challenging layout. Only complaint is they are loosing a 2 greens to some mold a believe. Can't remember the exact hole numbers but one is on the front the other is on the back. Accuracy is key at this course. Excellant place to test your skill.

Good Fairways but some the greens are bare...no warning the greens were bad...will play again once greens comeback

New to the area and this course has been my favorite I've played so far. Couple of blind shots, but other than that a very enjoyable course.

I like the course layout and some fairways are narrow which presents a challenge I like. Greens were aerated 2 weeks ago and coming back nicely but were still very slow. Greens are normally much quicker. Overall this a good course and you can find good deals every week.

Only played the back 9 twice because greens were being aerated. Also, the rough was really overgrown and needed to be cut. Nice layout, but needs some tender loving care. Only paid $22.00 so the value was obviously there.

Course was pretty much perfect except the rough was sooo long. On top of being long, it was also super thick. I lost.a few balls just mere feet off the fairway. You practically had to be standing on your ball to see it if the ball went into the rough. Not as enjoyable when this occurs. Not many people hit every fairway so it definitely slowed my pace of play as I had to search extensively 4 times. Cut that rough! Otherwise, great course!!

Greens were firm (even after several days of rain) and some were in bad shape. Starter sent groups off the back nine which slowed the round and we had to wait on every shot.

Greens in Excellent shape...the fairways are in good shape...pace of play great...a couple of holes where there was repair underway...overall well worth it

Greens were tremendous and hardly had a mark on them. Pace of play terrific at 3:45 for a foursome. Like the par 3’s the best and used all my clubs during the round

The fairways were fluffy with beautiful grass. The greens were nice and fast. An occasional odd spot on the greens that did not factor into the hole.

The tee time they sold us was the first one off behind the member/member tournament. It took us 3 hours to play 10 holes. It was painfully slow. They should’ve allowed more time between a shotgun start tournament and letting others tee off.

There are about 5 holes on this course that are very odd due to severe elevation changes, blind shots, and penal hazard locations I.e. OB left,, narrow fairway, and lateral hazard right. Completely unwalkable course. Fine in a cart. I only play this course as a last resort. The pro shop staff is awesome, helpful, food is good, and practice area is very good. The odd layout is the only drawback. Greens were actually in excellent shape for this time of year.
