About
River Falls Golf Plantation in Duncan is a Gary Player Signature Course. Its location makes it convenient for meeting up with people coming from Asheville, Columbia, Atlanta, or Charlotte. The golf course is also just minutes away from downtown Greenville. The narrow layout will test the accuracy and shot making abilities of even the best golfers. Rolling hills provide a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Water hazards come into play frequently and there are also strategically placed bunkers framing the greens and fairways. Player crafted a golf course that is both formidable and scenic. The abundance of mature trees helped him achieve this. He carefully wove River Falls Golf Plantation through the mature forests, allowing the trees to surround the holes, giving each a secluded and peaceful feel.

Short but challenging
Not a long course but fairways and tight are greens are guarded. Not a walking course You must ride.
Great Layout - Average Conditions
I have played River Falls several times in the past. This was the first time I have played the course in several years.
The course is very fun, challenging and has some beautiful golf holes. The conditions are very average, outside of the greens. Most of the greens are great (roll true, smooth and quick). There are several greens which have lots of dirt and dead spots in and around the greens. The tee boxes are awful. Many have little to no grass and the worst part is that the ground on the tee boxes is so dry and hard that you can not even put a tee in the ground. I have never played a course with tee boxes so hard and dry.
The staff at the course is very nice and friendly. The course could be a real gem if they would maintain a little better (many pathways to tee boxes the boards are broken, rotten and in bad condition.
If you get a good deal on GolfNow or some other place, take advantage and go play.

Nice Job
Course was in great shape/ Greens had been plugged recently. Rolling very good.. Lunch was good sitting on the patio and they had lots of good prices on shirts in the pro shop. I’ll be back.

Great public course
First time playing the course and absolutely loved it. Very scenic holes and quite a few that demand a well placed shot. Greens very in decent shape and rolled pretty true. Staff was awesome.

Great rate
I got a hot deal this morning to play the course for an amazing $13 and had to be there at 8 AM. It was an enjoyable day 71° to start and build well over 80° with high humidity by the time we finished the pace of play was good and the guys I got paired up with were really nice as well the greens are Fantabulous and put super super fast and very very true and I will definitely go back again to play as it is a very nice course it has the The greens are the Zoe is your type and they are extremely fast would definitely recommend someone going to this course to play as they keep it in very good condition the driving range is a good condition the practice putting green the clubhouse is in immaculate shape

Odd course layout
90 degree rule with God-awful cartpaths made for a hard day in the saddle. Nice, well maintained greens but strange layout.

Nice surprise
The greens were in awesome condition. Blind shots a couple of times make the first time experience difficult. Greens are well protected making iron shots a challenge. First couple holes very reasonable warm up holes

Nice Round
The course was in great shape but extremely wet from recent rains. Most greens were in great shape too but a couple were starting to show signs of loss. 4, 8 and 16 are very challenging holes. Fair amount of water on the course. Will definitely play again.

A Fun Track and Beautiful Layout

Good value, excellent layout
Very friendly staff and starter. Greens were excellent as was the layout. Should be superb when fairways green up. My first time playing and would play again. Great value through Golf Now.

Quick Round
Had to wait an hour and half for a frost delay, and the staff did a great job keeping me informed and entertained. Super fast round as I was the first out and a single, so once again awesome! Travis is the pro shop is a nice dude. Can’t beat it for the prices when you’re able to get a Hot Deal!

Customer service
Called Tuesday to make tee times and was told $45 for 18 holes for Saturday 3/2. When I arrived we were rang up for $55 instead of $45. When I questioned the guy he said the rates went up on 3/1. I then explained to him that we were told a cheaper rate. All he could say is sorry that someone told me the wrong price. The funny thing is this isn’t the first time this has happened. Great course shady staff.

Greens are not well kept, with lots of ball marks. Traps are a mess.
I have never seen this course in such bad shape.. Trying to recover some greens. Lots of mud. Very tough course to play when it is cart path only. Lots of steep climbs to get from cart path to fairway.

War zone
The weather has been wet I get it but the Greens look like a war zone. Ball Marks everywhere. 35.00 for wet conditions and ball marks not a match.

Good Day after Christmas
Check-in was expedient. Range was good and balls were good. Starter got our threesome out a couple minutes early, even though tee times were solid. Pace was good for the day after Christmas, as was the condition. Only a couple waits on the fronts 9. Some low places were wet, some bunkers still had water but able to adjust. Greens were rolling good. Cart paths could use some work- some of the worst around, must protect your back going over bumps/breaks You must know the grain on these zoysia greens and your line on some elevation/blind shots on the back 9. If you take that into play you can have a good round. I like play here in winter b/c greens stay healthy and do not go dormant.

Mixed Feelings
I have mixed feelings. The course has beautiful greens. Fairways are generous. Tee boxes need some work though. The golf cart was making this terrible noise that wouldnt stop. It started raining hard and Travis wouldn’t give us a rain check for the back 9.

Froze our Butts Off
We froze our Butts off but the Course was in Great Shape for all the Weather weve been having Groups in front of us didnt help matters they thought they were playing on the Senior Senior Tour Overall though you cant beat this Course its got alot of Elevation changes and it was quite pretty still having alot of the Fall Colors
