River Falls Plantation
About
River Falls Golf Plantation in Duncan is a Gary Player Signature Course. Its location makes it convenient for meeting up with people coming from Asheville, Columbia, Atlanta, or Charlotte. The golf course is also just minutes away from downtown Greenville. The narrow layout will test the accuracy and shot making abilities of even the best golfers. Rolling hills provide a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Water hazards come into play frequently and there are also strategically placed bunkers framing the greens and fairways. Player crafted a golf course that is both formidable and scenic. The abundance of mature trees helped him achieve this. He carefully wove River Falls Golf Plantation through the mature forests, allowing the trees to surround the holes, giving each a secluded and peaceful feel.

A must go to course in South Carolina
We play River Falls on a regular basis, as it is a beautiful course with a great layout. There is no hole the same and always provides a challenge. We played with a couple from Seattle last time we played RF and they loved the course.
… a real signature golf cource (Gary Player).
Anytime again !
Better then I remembered
Each hole has its own scenery and feel. A different shot each time.not just drive down the middle and a wedge in. Whether it's a lake next to the fairway, a 20 foot rock wall next to the green, flora...whatever each hole offers a different look and feel. Each hole is it's own seperate space as well. A must play for the area.
Pretty good
Staff was a little abrasive because I was just barely on time and I get it. But I don't control traffic. Course was good, a little crowded, and there were some close calls on misfit drives from other players, but all in all a decent day.
Great Course
We have played River Falls many times since moving to South Carolina. River Falls is one of our favorite course in South Carolina.
Nice Course
Great place to play. The pace was a little slow but other than that it's a great course.
Beautiful
Had a wonderful morning round I got there at sunrise and the Golf Professional was already prepping carts and shop. He let me go early as no one was there. It was a beautiful sunrise morning and the course was very nice and an awesome layout.
Course in great shape
Pace of play on the back nine was slow but it was good to see the course busy.
Where to start
Course conditions are not great with many barren areas that are very rocky right off the fairways. Diamond Zoysia greens that were randomly top dressed and held very few shots even with wedges. Plus construction on hole 6 with an active bonfire. One of the carts in our group broke down and we had multiple people from behind join us as we were waiting on every shot. At one point 4 groups on one hole. Fairways were overall great however and it’s disappointing considering this used to be a great place.
Course starter
The course starter was extra nice and welcomed us as first time players.
Way toooo sloooooww play
Course is in OK shape, fairways are best. Greens were bumpy and sandy, so the reads weren’t as true. I’d like to play again under better conditions.
However, the pace of play was painfully slow. 5 hour round! I suggest staff goes to 15-min tee time spacing because 10 is too short. Need a ranger out there moving people along, respectfully. Waited 5-10 minutes at every tee box and at most fairways from hole 4 onward.
