LakeRidge Golf Course
About
LakeRidge Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones course that has consistently been voted the "Best of Reno" ever since it first opened in 1969. Though the course sits less than five miles from downtown, the surrounding mountains provide a tucked-away feel. There are some stunning views from the elevated tees but don't get too distracted, this challenging course demands your attention. Mature trees tower over the fairways but they are thankfully wide enough to offer a little room for error. Water comes into play frequently and there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along the undulating greens. Accuracy is essential at LakeRidge Golf Course. The signature hole is the par-3 15th. This tee sits atop a rocky ridge that is perched 140 feet above Lake Stanley. You'll be playing downhill to an island green on this challenging but scenic hole.

Duncan is killing this place
This course has taken a complete 180 from last year. Duncan Management is letting this place go!!
Tee boxes look like the green at Kiley Ranch and the greens at LR are horrible!! Nobody bothers to fix their divots, but then again, why should they? The course doesn't roll the green so they're choppy anyway.
Also, LR seems to just let people tee off way before their times, and that usually leads to back ups. The worst, is they let groups of 5 go.
We were playing as a threesome and got stuck behind a foursome which was behind a five some that had 4 women players.
We all know women take forever anyway, but 4 of them with an added 5th person?? Really??
I even called the clubhouse and asked JT to send a Marshall to speed them up or let a couple groups play through and he shined me on. He never sent anyone. Added at least 90 minutes to game play and that was just on the back 9.
I wasn't a fan of the course to begin with, but after yesterday, I'll never play there again. This course and Duncan Management need to realize that they only have one hole (15) that keeps them in business and start treating customers better. Get it together guys and until I see some change, I do not recommend this course to anyone!!!
loved this course
Starter (BOB) made a great impression.
Good employees make for a good experience.
Lakeridge in great shape
Perfect weather and course conditions. Only problem was that GolfNow tee time was not programmed into Lakeridge schedule and we ended up being started on the 10th tee in between groups that wondered why we were allowed on the course. Poor coordination in the pro shop.
Great Course
First time my wife and I played this course, and we loved it. we will play it again next time in Reno.
the rough and sand traps were tough but fair. Greens were in great shape.
Great day
This was my first time golfing Lakeridge and had a wonderful time. It has picturesque scenery and the greens are spectacular.
Challenging and fun
The greens are in great shape, the fairways were wet and muddy due to the extensive rain the last two days.
Classic RTJones
Always enjoy playing Lakeridge. Back nine was a little backed-up today but still fun.
LakeRidge Golf
It was an excellent golfing experience! The course is in great shape and the staff members are great.
Great Course
Excellent Course . The hole 15 is the best hole that I had played. I played with my son and he liked the greens. We recommend to play this Course
The little things...
It's the little things that Lakeridge has and does that make all the difference, and it's also a few little things that are the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars.
The Good: Convenient layout for virtually everything, parking is right near carts and clubhouse and bathrooms, which leads right up to the driving range, when you want to line up for tee'ing off, the putting green and chipping green are both right near the 1st Tee, so it's extremely fluid and convenient. Snack Cart came around 3 times while we were playing, which was awesome. Course conditions were very good, not perfect, but as close as you can expect in Reno, especially given the strange weather we've had the last month. The challenging holes were challenging, the breathers were fun and a nice ego boost, and the fact that we actually saw a marshal a couple times checking on things was a huge plus (my friend and I have had issues with groups in front of us on other courses a lot this summer). They also have those electronic distance trackers on the carts and usb hub for charging your phone, etc. (Bring your cable).
My only real complaints are few: One is that there some long stretches without water fountains, and it gets really hot in the afternoon (Or I may have just missed them, in which case maybe some signs showing where they are at would have helped?). Also, I never saw any wind flags or anything along those lines, which would have been really useful on a couple holes (especially 15, I had the distance, but the wind carried it to the water). And lastly, given the "over and under the road" layout of the course, the course card should really have a small map guide or possibly on the electronic ball tracker, there were two times we weren't sure where to go for the next hole and it took us a minute to figure it out. :P
Altogether though, if it were possible I would probably give it 4.5 stars. I will definitely play there again, as soon as possible.
Robert Trent Jones Sr design
Love this course for Reno..one of the few with old tree growth..nice greens...fairly fast and rolled nicely...good pace of play in the afternoons but watch for tournaments and club days...like the RTJ SR design...lot's of optical games here have to think your way around....best par 3 anywhere for the signature hole....lot's of great views and it's right in the middle of town...mats on the range but nice chipping and putting greens by the first hole
Good round and course
You can have a very pleasant round and day here. The fairways are in great shape, greens perfect with easy approaches in, greenside bunkers are fantastic and you can hit the "PRO" shot out of them. Very aesthetic and the views of Reno are excellant.
July 11th
Nice course, greens in good shape fairways nice, love the 15th hole. Nice course
Course was really exciting and fun to play.
I love the physical layout of this course.
The greens present a challenge to read. And that is one reason I will return. In addition, it 's location is secluded and has a feeling of privacy. You really feel like you are getting away from it all and entering a hide away.
Lakeridge
One of the greenest courses in northern Nevada. Greens are quick and rolling smooth. Had a great time
Worth it w/discount from golf now
I would've paid the $85 for the weekday/afternoon tee time because I was on vacation. The $45 price through golf now made it worth it. Greens/course were in good shape.
Nice course, bad staff
This course is absolutely beautiful, probably the nicest public course in Reno. The staff was not very friendly. I booked a tee time a couple days in advanced only to find out that the tee time slot I purchased shouldn't have been open due to a couple of tourneys they were having that day. The pro shop tried to put us out at Wolf Run g.c. but they were booked solid too. So they squeezed us in the middle of a senior, scramble, shotgun starting tourney. Long story short, we had to wait an average of 10 mins to tee off every hole and the round took 6 hours because of slow play from the tourney players. During the last 7 holes the Marshall was trying to rush everyone because of another tourney they were having later that afternoon. FYI, I've never had this problem before. Now that I think of it, I've never played this course on a weekday previously. That being said, I'll only play here on a weekend when there's no tourneys.
somewhat challenging
pro-shot personnel somewhat Not information about the course about what refreshments service is available that's water when I asked about water supplied in the cart. he said no And I was told there is a cart girl out there. when I went down to pick up my cart the cart employees said you can have all the water you want we'll put it in the chest
Good course
Challenging and fun! Pace was slow, but didn't bother us - we had a good time and everyone was friendly.
