LakeRidge Golf Course
About
LakeRidge Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones course that has consistently been voted the "Best of Reno" ever since it first opened in 1969. Though the course sits less than five miles from downtown, the surrounding mountains provide a tucked-away feel. There are some stunning views from the elevated tees but don't get too distracted, this challenging course demands your attention. Mature trees tower over the fairways but they are thankfully wide enough to offer a little room for error. Water comes into play frequently and there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along the undulating greens. Accuracy is essential at LakeRidge Golf Course. The signature hole is the par-3 15th. This tee sits atop a rocky ridge that is perched 140 feet above Lake Stanley. You'll be playing downhill to an island green on this challenging but scenic hole.

Super slow play
Lakeridge is a nice course but the management overbooks the course which means that 18 holes of golf will take you almost 6 hours to play.
Lakeridge
I golfed on thanksgiving, it was a beautiful day,on a beautiful course in beautiful condition. They changed my tee time to a 10 o'clock shot gun so everyone could spend time with their families. The staff was very nice, and we had a wonderful day.
Overall course
It is an excellent course and surrounding homes add to the overall landscape.
Our of the Reno area courses I have played it is the best.
Fun at the island green
The 3rd time I've played here the people are always very nice and the course was a lovely challenge fast greens but holes not too long maki g par possible
Great course, but ...
As most courses time of year, the greens were sanded. However, these greens were over-sanded. I've never seen this much sand on greens in my 25+ years of playing golf. It was like putting in a sand trap!
wrong day to play
I bought my tee time not knowing only the back nine was opened! Wouldn't mind except the back nine was unplayable! I understand course maintenance but a heads up before you buy would have been nice!
I was duped
They closed the back 9, which is the best part of the course. No mention of closure when I purchased the tee time.
Slow play..... Need on course marshal
Great track, hole 15 is signature hole. Course in great condition . The star of the course is the starter "Jack Manna". Enjoyed talking with him.
Greens fast and play slow
Greens well used, extremely fast, so fast that any pin hole located on a slight angle cost at least two additional putting strokes if you missed on first putt. Extremely frustrating to see a gently hit miss slide 12 feet past the hole. Could hit greens fairly easily in regulation but could barely manage bogeys and double bogeys because of the crazy hole angles. It was very slow, long waits between holes and no help from the marshall to speed up two groups in front. I left after 14 holes.
First time play
Challenging course. Used every club in my bag. The 15th view is fantastic.
Fun course
Fun course with all the challenges of a championship course. Love the island green.
Great Play as Always
Course is in great shape. My favorite course.
Normally a bit pricey for me but I got a great Golf Now
deal. What a treat to play on a week day !
Lakeridge Reno
Overall good play when you get get it on a deal - would never pay full price to play this course.
Only matts on the driving range. Greens are faster than they appear they would be, but reasonable to putt. Wish there was a way to get people to repair their ball marks on the green - really bad this day. Navigating around the goose droppings wasn't fun - they're pretty to look at, but a problem on the course - were all over the fairways and greens.
nice layout and views
course was in good condition for being in another drought year. greens were fast and in good shape, fairways and bunkers were in good shape, rough was cut shorter than usual. have also played this course for 15+ years and it's still worth the play. always challenging. highly recommended.
Late show up
I showed up late due to a crash they waved my tee time and gave me a new tee time played with a group of 3 had a great time thanks fairways will cared for, green ran fast and nice
Carts
Course was great but waiting for 20 minutes for people to come off the course so we could get a cart was a little annoying. If they only had more carts. The starter even said the same thing. All in all it was a great time with my son.
5 to 6 HOUR ROUNDS
I joined the club this year and they book it so heavy that I have to plan on it being a 5 to 6 hour round. Golf channel keeps pushing the "while we are young" stuff but apparently Lakeridge doesn't get it that they are an important part of speeding up pace of play; over booking constantly and letting fivesomes out with players who couldn't keep up if they were a foursome; use common sense folks! If you complain about the 6 hour pace of play they tell you some sob story saying it's just some rare thing yet even a number of the staff say they are over booking constantly. Play it if you have all day and don't mind waiting 15 minutes between every shot.
Great course, Slow Play
Course was way overbooked. Pace of play was 5 1/2 hours which is crazy. Now there was a 16 man outing in front of us playing two-man best ball but 5 1/2 hrs is too long. It was dark by the time we finished. The staff, from the cashier to the starter to the rangers were excellent and friendly and apologized for the wait. I love the layout so will play again but maybe early in the day is better.
bummer
Or round stayed with being told there was tournament and that we would probably have to start on the Back. We had no info on the tournament which could have been emailed with the tee time confirmation. . We caught the groups by the 9th hole which were 5 and 6 people, we were one of four other groups now stacked behind the six-somes. One home took 35 minutes to play after all the waiting on the box. We abandoned the rounds and wasted the $.. What we did play was good. fast greens, nice fairways.. mushy tee boxes though. . Wish we could have played the signature how but with 5 and 6 players/hackers in each group ahead of us it would have been midnight.. bummed I wasted the $ here when I could have played a round elsewhere.. lesson learned. .
Too Crowded
Being a Reno resident, I have played Lakeridge many times. The course was in fair condition with the greens being fairly marked up. Good track. The only real problem we had was that we could not finish our round or it would have taken at least 6 hours. We had to stop after 5 hours which was disappointing. It appears that management does not want to spend the money on marshals for busy weekends when they could have used them on the front and back. If they choose to use marshals i the future, it would be nice to see them actually move slow players along as this course should be a 4.5 hour round on the busiest of days.
