Good shape
Course in great shape tee to green. Bunkers pretty consistent sand, #12 was shut down & played as a par 3 instead of a 4,,,, believe they were having some irrigation issues. Other than that, excellent shape. Greens consistent & decent speed. As always, some members jumped in front of us on the turn & they were SLOW. Played the front in an hour & a half, back nine 2 1/2 hours & as usual, no rangers to make them pick it up or let us go through as a 2 some. Even with that, a nice course in great shape. Play it!!!
Course was in good shape for October.Greens are a little undulating but fair.
Nice course
It is a nice golf course in good conditions and nice people at the club house.
BUT they don't value much the guests using the Golf Pass. They find a way to accommodate us in the end. In fact, this time they had a tournament, like it happened before, and they let us play twice the front 9. So, it was ok... sort of, but why they are not in sync with Golf Pass website?!? We like the place for sure, and we will go back with the hope we would be able to play 18 holes....
Great layout
First time playing here. Great layout. Great views of lake Greenwood. Greens were in pretty good shape. Rolled pretty smoothly. Speed was consistent throughout the course. Bunkers well maintained with predictable sand in the ones I hit out of. Driving range was a bit chewed up but I think the course recently got a lot of use from some college teams being out there.
Overall, very enjoyable round of golf. Will definitely make the 1 hour drive from Greenville to play here again. 10/10 recommend
Great Course/Rude Members
Second time playing here and love the layout. Really fun course. Greens were top dressed so not a great roll. But that's understandable. My ONLY complaint is about who are clearly members. The self-righteous, self-important old snobs who take seven holes before they "permit" a single to play through their precious 4/5- some! To them I say GET OVER YOUR OWN EGO! When someone can out drive you with a seven iron, let them through. Seriously!
Enjoyable course - Will Play Long for Short Hitters
Overall: A very nice course so if you are in the Greenwood area it's worth playing Links at Stoney Point. It's a very pretty course with some holes with view of Lake Greenwood.
Course Condition: The course was in great shape (except for some of the bunkers but with all the rain recently it's understandable).
Course Challenge: Very Challenging for players that do not hit their ball a long way given some of the uphill elevations (for example, hole 17/Par 3 requires you to definitely club up) and some of the holes are very long. For example, the 10th hole from the forward tees is 452 yards (unless you are a long hitter you have no chance of getting on in regulation). The greens were very tricky - at least the day we played the pin locations were in locations with tons of break.
Amenities:
The carts were very nice, smooth running, Sand bottle for divots on each side of the cart.
Nice driving range, chipping area, and putting area.
Beverage cart out on the course (even if you didn't want a drink she asked if we needed ice since it way a hot day - very thoughtful).
Fast service for drink/food at the turn (everyone seemed to be ordering the bratwurst and said they were excellent).
Staff: All staff were very friendly and helpful!!
Great Shape!
The course is in excellent shape.....the best it's been in several years. Really nothing to complain about. Tee boxes, fairways & greens all in really good shape. An occasional bunker could use a tad more sand, but every bunker was raked out/turned over, which is rare these days at most courses. It is obvious that someone has really stepped up their game in maintaining this course. Cant wait for their bar/restaurant to reopen.Always friendly staff!!!!
