About
Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

Overall it’s a pretty good course, the greens are in excellent condition, there are some rough spots on the fairways but what the heck your in Arizona….

Some greens were damaged…lots of lines cut into greens
It was fun and fairways were in good shape. Greens were rough due to ball marks not being repaired and the damaged lines.

Never coming back
Words can’t explain how upset I am. This place is an absolute joke. The so called Ranger is a joke. Completely killed my round. Not even going to waste my time anymore to explain what happened but all I can say is don’t go here if you’re trying to have fun the ranger will kill it

Conditions: OK; Course: Difficult
Slow play, as expected on all Phoenix "city" courses. The conditions were poor to fair. We previously played just after re-seeding and it was lush during the cart path-only phase. Now the fairways are more brown than one might expect with several areas under repair. The rough is very poor. And, to make matters worse, the course plays long, has several difficult holes and is pricier than the conditions warrant. We won't be returning.

Cart paths not good
Staff in pro shop unfriendly when I arrived for a 2 pm tee time I was immediately warned to have my cart back by 5.45pm, and that a round of golf would take at least 4 hours. Not so much as a welcome greeting and suggestion that I may only want to play 9 holes, and pay a lose amount.
The greens and fairways are well maintained, but the cart paths, where they exist, are horrible.

Fun Day
Placed with two very nice gentlemen. The let my husband ride with paying additional cart fee. The course was in good condition and greens were good for me. It is a fun course to play especially if you haven’t been playing. Pace of play was good that day . 4:15. Most men don’t like being paired with a woman but these fellow were great. Even took our cart back.

Enjoyed the course. Well laid out. Back 9 more challenging. Very good value. Locals not great at repairing pitch marks on greens.
