About
Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

No cart paths and extremely slow pace
They allow large groups to play without carts. Then there was huge backups due to this and then the most annoying part was it was “cart path only” but they don’t have a cart path. Legit no cart path at all. It’s like a dirt road that doesn’t always exist then you randomly will be on a cement path that leads into a bunch of bushes and trees (hole 11). I wish I could have gotten my money back.
The only nice the thing about it was there greens and grass was surprisingly well maintained. Better than most courses surprisingly.

They we’re getting ready to overseed but still enjoyed finding a good price to play it cause haven’t been there in a yr and a half due to the pandemic.

Nice course!
Course was in good condition and is a fun layout to play. Each hole has its own look and feel and has plenty of challenges (Water on the back, OB, trees, etc.).
Last day
Our last day in Arizona, decided to play here came away a little disappointed. We caught up to a fivesome which slow our pace of play. This course is very rough around the edges, cart paths will alter your back. The layout is fine, price was just like the course, you get what you pay for.

I literally live 5 miles from the course. I never played because of the area its in, but besides that it was in great condition, and nice layout.
