About
Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

Golfer Reviews
Needs help
The course is okay in the fairways and greens, terrible in the rough and there are very limited cart paths and they are in lousy shape.
5 Hours
Not a single Marshall or cart girl in sight. The walkers take their time and nobody tells them anything. WILL NOT LLAY HERE AGAIN.
Fun track
Tee Boxes, Fairways and greens were in great shape…bunkers too. Wish the cart paths were better, confusing at times and non existent in areas. Overall great place to get out and play a round.
Not bad
The course was in decent shape. The rough was a little bit long and it made it difficult to find your ball if you went in. The greens were bumpy and slow. It looks like they haven't completely healed from the aeration. The carts are terrible. Very beat up. Mine would stall out or not move when you pressed the accelerator. It just kind of sat there as you repeatedly tried to go to no avail, then suddenly kick in. We lost several balls to other golfer who would pick them up from adjacent fairways. Not sure why they would come into our fairway to search for their ball, but they did. One of our foursome lost several balls to the ditch running through the course. That was on him though. The pace was about 4:15 hrs. Not great, but not terrible.
Not bad
The course was in decent shape. A little high priced but ok. I'd play it again
Tight Lies
The fairways are cut too short. It was down nearly at scalping level for over seed season. Conversely, the rough is too high. I lost a couple of balls that settled down in it.
Great Value
This course offers a great value and amenities. Has driving range and food service.
Enjoyable course!
Fun course with some challenges! Greens were in great shape. Played with some friends from Dallas and Vancouver Wa. Area and they really enjoyed it as well.
