Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

This course offers a great value and amenities. Has driving range and food service.
Enjoyable course!
Fun course with some challenges! Greens were in great shape. Played with some friends from Dallas and Vancouver Wa. Area and they really enjoyed it as well.
Nice track
Course was very wet from the rain. Cary paths are in really rough shape!
Greens were long and slow but otherwise they were in good shape. Very pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course. Fairways, bunkers, greens and fringe were in nice shape. It was a fun morning. Paired up with two ladies and that was fine. Hit the ball well and played fast.
I really recommend this course. Thanks for a great day!
Best Municipal Course
Definitely worth the money. Few ravines whet you can lose your balls if you can’t hit straight. Would play again

Good muni and good bang for your bucaroos. The greens roll a little inconsistent from green to green, but I always have a great time here..
Go, you’ll have fun
If you’re not scared of the heat, get out there and have fun! The course is great. Greens a little fluffy so you’re gonna need to whack em.
Pleasantly Suprised
I gave up golfing at this course a few years ago because of the conditions the course was in at that time. I am pleasantly surprised to see that the course has done a lot of the repairs. The greens and sand traps are in great shape. The fairways are getting better.
Tad overpriced
$100 for two of us. Probably should have been more like $70. It’s a mini so take that for what it is. However I have played munis in many places and this was a bit rough around the edges. Greens really slow. Overall it was fun and folks let us play through. Played 18 in 3 hours.
Work
This course has an excellent layout and overall playability, but there are significant issues that need to be addressed. The lack of grass in the middle of the fairway and landing spots is a major problem. It's clear that the course needs to close temporarily to allow for proper grass growth. Playing on hard dirt for most of my shots is challenging and detracts from the overall experience. The course has great potential, but these issues must be resolved to truly enhance the playing conditions.

Got out there early to beat the heat. Grass was green and course layout was, hill-y. Greens were a little sandy and plugged, but we managed to putt alright. CC 18 y'all.
