About
Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

Sunday Morning Round
Phoenix mid-summer and the course is in great shape. Definitely a great value for the money, only 3.5 hours for a full round AWESOME!! The staff very friendly and helpful.
Giving this course 5 stars because of the condition it's in for summer. The whole course is green. The greens may be slow but I'll take that compared to dead like most courses have been lately

Course recently aerated
.aeration of greens and fairways was a bummer, but greens were heavily sanded and watered so ball effects were minimized. Traps and bunkers were rebuilt this summer. Absolutely loved playing out of greenside bunkers. White sand was great.. Tee boxes were in good condition, but fairways were sparse in spots.
Good course conditions
I’ve played this course a number of times in the course is in very good condition for this time of the year . They just finished fixing all the sand traps and you have actual sand in the traps now . The fairways are good and the greens are rolling just fine . You can’t expect perfect conditions as it is iextremely hot this time of year .

Slow play!
5 hours to play 18 and not a drink cart in site. Way too slow of play!
fast greens
the course was in good shape except for several puddles throughout the course...the rough and even fairways had standing water. The greens were fast and they have a beverage cart again

Under new management
I learned how to play golf on this course and had always loved playing it… With that said it been a year and a half since I teed it up there. As of January 1 the course is under new management, and I got to say the greens are firm and fast and the fairways are true! I spoke with some of the employees there and they aren’t done yet... The updated clubhouse and new pull carts are a great touch too. This course is the best muni in Phoenix!!

The course is currently in good shape didn't see burn spots in the fairways Greene's role true and we were receptive all in all still one of my favorite Municipal courses
SLOW PACE OF PLAY
Course was in good condition however pace of play was horrible. Eventually had three random groups in the middle of fairway while our group was on tee box and this was in frontier of the pro shop.
