About
Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

Tee time was not available
I received confirmation that the tee time chosen was booked only to find out the time was actually 30 minutes earlier. In order to fit us in we had to break up our party of 4. Extremely disappointing. Golf course was very helpful trying to accommodate on a busy Saturday unfortunately we should have been advised by Golf Now as the tee time was booked 4 days in advance so there was ample time to follow up with a notification

Course in great shape, be careful, alot of standing water you can't see.

A river runs through it
They were nice enough to allow walking after an incredible 4 days of pouring rain and hail. Course was wet without a doubt but I had the 6700~ yards to myself! Love this course!

Unbelievable greens
I thought the course overall was better than I thought it would be, considering it is a Phoenix muni course. Price is reasonable. However, the greens all seem to have extreme undulations to them, bordering on unfair.

Slow Course of the Season
Wow! 5 hours to play on Saturday morning. No one on course to encourage faster play. We waited on every tee box and fairway. Open course with very little trouble. Disappointing!
Good little Muni
For the price this is a good course. Fairways were taken care of but the rough wasn’t overseeded and a bit patchy. Finished in 3 hours and 40 minutes with two walking. Greens are challenging and overall it was a decent course.

nice layout and challenging but slow.
One of the few fairly priced courses in the area and it does get a lot of play. It is an interesting layout and the greens are challenging with lots of undulations and speed variations. It took almost 5 hours to play on Fri pm starting at 1 pm.
Challenging course
A good value for prime time golf. Greens were quick and tricky with large undulations but they ran true. Fairways are in good shape. Cart paths are rough but who cares.

Friendly Course But...
They started our group 1/2 hour late, mixed in walking groups and cart groups. Took 5 hours to play a great 18 holes.
where's the ranger?
stacked up 10 carts (23 golfers including 3 walkers) at 14... what a mess
Slow pace.
Slow pace of play. Waited on every tee box. Lots of GURs in the fairways, looked like sprinkler system problems dug up and repaired. Cart paths need work. Good value for the money if we could have finished quicker.

I forgot to mention that the cart paths are very rough. They are mostly hard dirt or rocks and you do a lot of bouncing.
