Encanto Golf Course

Had the first tee time of the day at this municipal course, but our twosome was put off second by the unfriendly pro shop cashier so locals could get off before us. This bumped our tee off 15 minutes. Fortunately, the first group let us play through on #3. Greens and fairways in excellent shape, but the rest of the course was average. Long par 4s posed challenges, but no stand-out holes. For the $49 we paid, our money would have been better spent elsewhere and our patronage appreciated.

Great value. Terrific shape for a muni - tee boxes and fairways very good. Greens outstanding. We'll be back.

We played this course on advice of some people we were paired up with at a different course. It's a municipal course close to downtown Phoenix, and abutting a kiddie part. The fairways wet very nice and the greens just a green and pristine as any higher end golf course. The layout was nice, not your typical up and down muni course . Except for the nonstop takin horn toots from the kiddie park next door, it was a serene little course.

The course has a great layout and has challenging holes with bunkers and water getting in the way on occasion. Has quite a few dog-legs to make it interesting and a very good price for a Friday.

Nice course. Challenging from the back tees with very long par 4s, fast greens and tough pin placements. Played with some friendly locals and enjoyed our afternoon.

Awesome greens! Wide open! Great for beginners.......love the older area of the city and the older style.......gotta break away from the typical desert courses once in a while.

The day before, we booked three foursomes, as we were in town for a family event. Staff was totally accommodating, and helped us out with club rentals for those that did not have clubs.

Course was just what we needed.

Sand traps were packed hard, but it had rained.

Otherwise, we enjoyed our rounds!!

The best thing about the course was the greens. They were in great shape and good size. The course is FLAT with a few trees and a little water. Good course for beginners and those not worried about scenery.

The course is a little.rough around the edges. Greens and fairways were in good shape. The layout was a little boring but easy to navigate. The group behind us were a bit rude and complained about us playing slow but our foursome played in 3 hr 40 minutes.

A great day at one of Arizona's historic courses. Conditions were very good. Only suggestion would be to add more sand in the sand traps.

i like the staff very professional , alicia is great bought a drink that was flat i told her she immediately replaced it .

Nice course. Flat and simple layout. Wide open, narrow fairways with a lot of light rough on each side. Looks more wide open than it is. Good value for the money.

Nice course, wide open and in pretty good shape for how hot it was there. Rental clubs are just ok but usable for $25

I play here often due to its location, course conditions and the wonderful staff. The Club House team is always friendly , up beat and attentive. Played in just over three hours as there was only two of us and we moved along very quickly. The greens are true and roll nicely. Being a senior golfer, I find the last four holes on the back nine to be a bit long which is always a challenge for me. My only major compliant about this course are the sand traps. This course is owned by the City of Phoenix so I am sure there are budget issues involved when course improvements are made. But in my opinion the sand traps should have good sand in them. Again my opinion but instead of spending thousands of dollars on new paving for the parking lots the sand traps should have been addressed first; after all we do not play golf in the parking lot. Other then the sand trap for me I really enjoy playing golf at Encanto GC.

The course was in great shape in a great setting. Encanto Park is a beautiful place. Greens were quick but in nice shape and consistent.
