The Encanto Nine Golf Course lies to the west of Encanto Park, and offers an executive-length golf course perfect for anyone who seeks a fast-and-loose round, with tee times passed out first-come-first-served. About an hour and a half is usually all it takes to play through the golf course.

The Encanto Nine Golf Course sits in the heart of Phoenix, and claims the honor of being the third-oldest golf course in Arizona and features a casual vibe, perhaps due in part to the foliage. Nice little track for $9. Have 3 par 4's but if you're working on your game or a player you can hit 9/8i off the tee. Didn't bring anything higher than a 7. Would not play here on Thursdays at 9 am, a woman's league plays at 8 am every Thursday

Old School Charm

Fun course to warm up if you haven't played recently. City course, well maintained. Walking is the only way to go. Your GPS might try to take you to the 18 hole course.

Great for a quick 9

In town on business, just wanted to get a quick 9 in without the hassle of being paired up in a foursome w/ strangers. This is a great course to work on your short game, and you can bust out 9 holes solo in about 1 hour if you ride and don't get stuck behind anyone.

Nice 9 & good value.

Being a City of Phoenix course, it is excellent condition. Played here before and it's always busy, but play is steady. Don't expect to play 9 in record time....just enjoy the time in the sun. By the way, each tee has shade trees to wait under. If want to play a serious 18 holes, I'd recommend going to the Encanto 18 next door to the 9.

Great value for the money

Can't beat the price and the greens are in perfect shape. We played another 9 for $3. Place of play wasn't too bad considering it's a city course where you usually see a lot of beginner golfers playing.

Challenging 9 hole course, well maintained

I like this course. Good value, very nicely maintained. Good variety of yardage from 90 to 300. I recommend Encanto 9 for a quick round.

..good value!!

The course is an easy walk 9 holer with very little difficulty. I have to say that it is in GREAT condition with the greens being very good and true rollers but not very fast which is good for high handicappers!

This course is great for seniors!

My wife and I played this course for the first time. I was looking for a course for her to play that didn't have a lot of obstacles and wasn't too long. This course was right on the money. Very flat and easy to walk with no sand or water to hit over. The fairways and greens were in surprisingly good shape for a course that was inexpensive to play. We will definitely play here again.

Well maintained course to refine your game

It's an excellent course for beginners or those looking to work on their short game. There are three Par 4's that I used my driver on, so you get some work with your big clubs as well, which makes this an excellent course to learn and practice on.

It's a straight approach on most greens, but the greens themselves are not all straight putts. Secondly, the greens are in excellent condition.

For $11 and still trying to refine my game, this course is perfect.

One Note: GolfNow's directions send you to the pro shop of the big course. The Encanto 9 is off Encanto Rd. around the corner from the big course's pro shop.

Very forgiving

Haven't played regularly for some time and thought the grounds, staff and other players were very forgiving and accommodating to someone who hasn't played in a long time.

great value

Overall, a great experience with the family. A great course for the kids and one where i could sharpen up my short game. There was also good differentiation between the length of the par 3's (and some 4's) which you don't often see on a 9 hole course. The only thing that we didn't like was letting a few groups start on hole 2 and 5 (seemed odd and caused delays). The greens were also fantastic! Overall a great experience and very reasonable fees!

Men's club at a 9 hole?

My friend and I took our young sons to play and were rushed all day because of a 20 foursome mens club behind us. They should not have large groups like that playing at courses designed for beginners.

Surprised Me

Came to visit my daughter and planned on playing somewhere as a single. Then my daughter's roommate to play with me...she's a beginner. I choose this course on the proximity and price. It was what I expected until we were on the course. It really surprised me was the condition of the greens. I felt like I was stealing from them for what I paid to play a course in this shape.

Quick practice round.

We didn't have time for a full round of golf so we decided to go for a par 3 course. This course actually has a couple par 4s. It was a little slow, but it was still fun.

course features are awesome

For being a smaller 9 hole def is worth the buck.
wouldn't mind having 1 more par 4 and 1 less par 3 to give players a lil bit more for the experience.
