Oakcreek Country Club is situated amongst Sedona's red rock mountains, providing unique scenery throughout. Opened over 40 years ago, it is Sedona's first golf course. The course was a collaboration between Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and his son. It is a classic, player-friendly layout that offers plenty of room for error. There are also several opportunities to recover errant shots incorporated into the design. Despite its forgiving nature, the golf course definitely has its challenges. There are tree-lined fairways with bunkers strategically positioned in the landing areas and elevated greens bordered by large, swirling bunkers. Three lakes also come into play on five holes. Oakcreek Country Club requires accuracy as well as length in order to score well. Next to the clubhouse there are extensive practice facilities including a large driving range with target areas, a practice green, putting and chipping greens, and a short game area with a sand bunker.

Ok course poor course management slow play didn’t finish round

We started around 3pm. The course was in ok shape, fairways were good, some tee boxes had sand and the greens looked like they were punched about 10 days or so ago. The person who gives carts didn’t have any asked if he knew when we would get one he said no. He did bring us one a couple of minutes b4 we teed off. Pace of play was super slow once we got to hole 5 or 6. There were 3 groups at the tee box waiting. After five the pace was miserable. Once we got to the back nine pace was great but we were unable to finish. We got a hot deal so not too mad but definitely wouldn’t pay the 100-150 a person they want for a round. The Hilton course is better for the same money.

Course was great…tee boxes and greens were perfect…layout was great with beautiful Mountain View’s on almost every hole…. for me, it was like playing back home in Michigan with pine tree lined fairways water, and nice sand traps… Definitely ranks up there with some of the nicer courses I’ve played…the price point was fair for the course and I’ll be back to play this course again soon…a great golf experience

Oak creek enjoyment

This was my first time visiting Sedona and I really wanted to golf, I looked up a few courses around but really wasn’t sure where to play, I then looked up online tee times and found a “hot deal” for oak creek so I booked it. I arrived and I was instantly impressed with the scenery and the condition of the course that I could see from the clubhouse. All the staff I encountered were very friendly and accommodating, I warmed up and hit a few balls on the range and then teed off. The course was plush and green, fairways cut and rough was thick. The greens were in great shape and the views were impressive. I ended up liking so much I came back the next day and played it again. Can’t wait to get back and play it some more!

Beautiful backdrops

Scenic views from many holes. Course in decent shape. The pace of play was 5 hours due to a fivesome two groups ahead, which should not be allowed.

Staff was very friendly and courteous. Hope to come back someday.

Great experience

After first briefly visiting the course in June while in Sedona for a wedding, I was eager to return to play and I was very pleased. Everyone that I encountered was friendly, helpful, and made me feel like a welcome patron. The pro shop guys, the grill folks, the starter, and the ranger all had a great positive attitude attitude. The practice green and range were in excellent condition as was the entire course. I'm planning a return soon to this Arizona gem.

Great course for a husband and wife to enjoy together

This was are second time back in 2 months to play Oak Creek CC and it was very enjoyable.

Course was under going overseed of fairways so not in the same fabulous conditions as our last visit but still overall a wonderful experience.

We did miss the lady starter who was a very wonderful person, hopefully we will see her again.

One improvement we would like to see is the tee markers paint colors redone. It was difficult to tell gold from yellow. Would also like to see the teal markers up front made larger they were difficult to find on most holes.

Oak Creek CC

One of the most beautiful courses you can play. Outstanding views of the red rocks located in the area. Great RTJ design. The entire area is located over an aquifer - plenty of water available to irrigate this course.
