Palmbrook Golf Club

If you are a single golfer that paid for a cart ,you are forced to team up and ride with someone you dont know , didn't like that especially when lots of carts were available, nowadays with covid not completely gone and it makes for an uncomfortable round of golf

We had to wait on almost every hole. It took almost 4.5 hours to play. (I realize there was a frost delay but still...) I had to scrape goose crap out of my line on two occassions. the fact that it was dry was good for clean up but bad for indicating the last time the course dealt with it.

The course was in good shape, very windy but playable. Good speed on the greens

Sun City was built as a retirement community in the 70s, catering to retirees looking for an escape from colder climates of the East and Midwest. The only problem is these communities are now 40-50 years older and have done very little to modernize or renovate. The same holds true for the golf courses. They were built in the age of Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicolas and are time capsules to that era. Retirees I suppose are still satisfied with these old-style courses, and that explains how they continue to survive. It would be nice to see some creative type figure out how to lift these courses out of the 70s and breathe new life into these venues. They could start by looking at how they converted the tired old Maryvale Muni into the modern and challenging Grand Canyon University course.

Great layout beautiful greens can be spendy at times

This is a fun course to play. The greens are in spectacular condition right now. There is plenty of room to spray the ball around, but the layout has its share of challenging holes.

Course is in very good shape. Had a great time and was paired with 3 other players. Bought a breakfast burrito and it was excellent. Employees were very nice. Will definitely play it again.

There was a frost delay as well as a tournament. Louis managed to get us out on time and we finished in under 4 hours. He was great to work with and very informative about what was going on when I called in the morning.

What a gem! Low-key vibe and a great value. Everybody is friendly and welcoming. The practice facility is conveniently located and the course layout is interesting. The greens were immaculate, rolling 11 on the stimp. My girlfriend is a beginner golfer and enjoyed the round just as much as I did.

I'm sorry to have interrupted the staff conversation as I checked in . How rude of me to want to pay and get warmed up. My playing partner and I got "disciplined" after the round by not knowing where to park our carts. the attendant had to walk an extra 20 steps to move the carts despite the fact that we were willing to move the carts because it wa clearly a rules violation on our part! Come on guys, you are all in a people interface business and first impressions are lasting ones!
