Union Hills Golf & Country Club
About
The golf course at the Union Hills Country Club is a championship course with a traditional layout. The course has been named one of the Top Ten Private Courses in Arizona. The design features four lakes and two winding creeks that create water hazards that come into play on a few holes. There are also several sand bunkers present. Some of the golf course's greens are elevated and the fairways are average sized in width. The signature hole is the par-4 14th hole, which requires a carry over water. Union Hills Country Club also has a putting green and full driving range for golfers to use.

2/24/23 Round
First time at Union Hills. My review is relative to thee courses in area.
Staff - friendly
Tees -very good, not beat up
Fairways - excellent
Greens - very good, some where bumpy (see photo) but consistent and not affecting putts too much
Traps - didn’t get in but my partners said some of best in the area
Cart Paths - excellent
Carts - very good, gas but windshields you can see thru
Other -pencils with erasers!
Will play here again soon. My order of quality of courses played this trip so far - Palmbrook, Union Hills, Hillcrest, Coldwater, Great Eagle. First three are very close to being at top.
disappointed
i like the layout hadnt played there in year or so, the fairways were excellent, on front nine most of greens were good but..... rough was terrible lots of bare dirt all the creeks had gone dry , most of greens escpecially back nine were bad , front desk service was exceptional, driving range great but disappointed in overall course condition. i like union hills hoping something happens that it can be improved to back what it was like couple years ago
Was happy to find a course in the Prime golf season in Scottsdale area for under $100.00 a round. Very happy with the staff, the course and the amenities. Worth the drive. Already booked another tee time.
Good course for the money I paid
Couse was in good condition and the pace of play was excellent. No slow downs for my round.
Not what it once was
Hadn’t played here for several years. It is a tired track that needs lots of love. Probably won’t revisit
Decent course
Sand traps are very hard but overall good course. Friendly staff.
Pretty bad course conditions
The pace of play was exceptional due to the golf pro keeping on it where a lot don’t… He was the single awesome part of the experience. A lot of dirt areas that aren’t kept at all… We understand it’s winter but let’s not pretend it was worth almost 100$ per player to play…..
Rough was nothing but dead grass, Sand traps were like hitting off concrete, I didn't even leave footprints. The 2nd green has a sandtrap right in the middle of it. The course was not in great shape. Will not go back for a while
Greens need attention, but course is good
The greens were a little rough & brown. Other than that the course was good. No cart girl for drinks, but understand people get sick. Union Hills is always a good relaxing course to play on.
Average Public Course
Great layout, water, sand, elevated greens. Tee boxes are crowned and could use attention. Fairway was decent but greens were hard and brown. Inconsistent speed, somewhere between fast and glass. Decent option if favorable tee times are not available at courses with better conditions for the same or less.
It would have been nice to know you
This course was obviously a top notch facility in the past. Clubhouse is large but mostly closed down now. The course has some nice design features with plenty of length and challenge. The conditions have gone down a bit, but tees, fairways and greens are still very nice.
Very Disappointed
I typically don’t write reviews but I have to admit that after playing this course, I will not play this course again. I understand around the WM and Super Bowl being in town all the courses were charging a high price but $83 to play this course was robbery. The greens were diseased, the tee boxes were were all beat up, the carts need to be retired and my nephew rented a set of clubs that should be sold at a garage sale.
