Union Hills Golf & Country Club
About
The golf course at the Union Hills Country Club is a championship course with a traditional layout. The course has been named one of the Top Ten Private Courses in Arizona. The design features four lakes and two winding creeks that create water hazards that come into play on a few holes. There are also several sand bunkers present. Some of the golf course's greens are elevated and the fairways are average sized in width. The signature hole is the par-4 14th hole, which requires a carry over water. Union Hills Country Club also has a putting green and full driving range for golfers to use.

Not much changed
Course layout, and staff attitudes are great.
People are friendly, and helpful.
Course is overloaded, we waited on each tee box. And almost every approach shot.
Lot of dead spot, and muddy fairways....
No ranger out there moving groups along, that may help.
For $100 on a weekday afternoon,
Not a good value
Union hills
My wife and I have been playing union hills in Mar or feb for about the last 10 years. This is absolutely the best condition it has ever been in. I usually shoot in mid 80's from the whites. This is a very flat course with several longvpar 3s. It is a fun and fair course and pretty reasonable price wise. $98 at 11:30.
golfer lady
I had 12:30 pm tee time, did not tee off until 12:57 pm, 3 minutes shy of being a half hour late. It took 4 hours and 20 minutes to play 14 holes. The pace of play was horrible. There was no ranger to move the slower golfers along. The course was very busy, but poorly managed. It cannot accommodate tee times 8 minutes apart. The staff was very polite and good at stating, "we're sorry for the delay, we appreciate your patience."
Great course and staff!
If you’re looking for a challenging but fair, fairways in great shape, greens putt true, driving range is absolutely one of the best if not the best and the staff will treat you like you’re part of the team, give Union Hills Golf Club a try! From management to the support teams (starters, welcoming staff, snack bar, cart support and grounds keepers) are there to make our day as perfect as possible but leaving the golf score as our responsibility (LOL). We could see by the attitudes of everyone we came in contact with they wanted to be there and was enjoying what their particular responsibility was. The course is in excellent shape and using good course management we’ve completed with great scores (within our range). We’ll definitely be going back in an attempt to better our scores!
Nice Vibe- Good time
This course was fun. Welcoming environment outside with food and drink staff being friendly and helpful. Check in was almost too fast. Efficient operation. The range was easy to access and good! The course conditions were really quite good in my opinion. This course is a good time and great value
Brutal Pace of Play
We have played here several times in the past however this is the first time I've played a course where it took 3 hours to play 9 holes. Had we know we would have paid for 9 holes. Course excuse was that it was a holiday. I've played many courses over the holidays and finished at worst case in just over 4 hours. Tee times were packed at 7 minute intervals which at the level of play is unrealistic. It doesn't help when in our 3 hours on the course, we saw the course marshal only once and never said a word and just drove by. Obviously it appeared they weren't doing there job in keeping the pace of play moving from the get go.
It is understandable that when a course packed to the hilt the course takes a beating. The greens on the first 9 holes that we got to play were a mess. Unrepaired ball marks/divots everywhere and sand traps in so so condition. Tee boxes and fairways appeared to hold up pretty well.
Bottom line: Do not play on holidays. They care more about cramming players onto the course than about pace of play for there patrons.
Pace of play
The pace of play was terrible. Played 3 holes in 1 hour. Only was able to get 9 holes in 4 hours.
enjoy the staff, fair course except all par 3's are long
Pace of play is horrendous
The course is in very good condition and the layout is challenging with very tight fairways on certain holes. The bar and kitchen is above average with good options. My biggest issue with Union hills in the pace of play I started at 1:15 and couldn’t get through 18 holes.
staff great, course fair and challenging holes, like GPS
Played this course for over the last 10 years, at least 40-50 times a year.
Called the course the morning I was going to play as I woke up very sick, spoke to Jose about canceling due to illness he said I had to call Golf Now, Tried them with horrific experience of disconnection four times. After that took a Covid test and found it was positive, couldn’t cancel through the course or through golf now. Later in the day contacted Golf Now and again call was disconnected five times this time where they informed me it was the golf courses decision to go ahead and bill my card the $180.00 for the green fees. So I guess the prior owners were not the vultures the new owners are and as long as I’ve played this course I would expect a bit more leeway. Well not to worry as I will never play their course again.
It’s just so disappointing.
Passive Aggressive Cart Intake Guy
The older gentleman who receives the carts needs an attitude check. Just because me or the other player didn’t want to pay to have our clubs wiped down he instantly shifted his attitude and got all passive aggressive with us. Started chirping about how we brought the carts in 15 mins late even though nothing was posted or mentioned to us beforehand. First off I can wipe my own clubs down just fine and don’t need to pay a person to do it, and him being rejected for it is the only reason he mentioned the cart coming in late . Second , if you have a below average rate of play , a person is always going to continue on until they can’t see anymore for a twilight round to get as many holes in as possible. Oh well if the guys have to stay later than they wanted to, but golfers are playing until they can’t any longer.
Bar Closes Early
I like to have a beer after golf with my friends, but the bar closes around 4:00. Same a Palmbrook. Owner too cheap to keep staff on for an extra hour or so.
