Union Hills Golf & Country Club
About
The golf course at the Union Hills Country Club is a championship course with a traditional layout. The course has been named one of the Top Ten Private Courses in Arizona. The design features four lakes and two winding creeks that create water hazards that come into play on a few holes. There are also several sand bunkers present. Some of the golf course's greens are elevated and the fairways are average sized in width. The signature hole is the par-4 14th hole, which requires a carry over water. Union Hills Country Club also has a putting green and full driving range for golfers to use.

Greens recently aerated
Greens need about 2 more weeks to heal from aeration
Greens under maintenance!!!!!!!
Greens were punched this week with 0 indication on website or golf now notifying people the greens look like a Chinese checker board. Skip this course until mid/late August..
Greens punched and sanded on 7-7-25
Be aware that the greens were recently punched and sanded. Also, we had to play front nine twice. Naturally, putting was difficult. Tee boxes and fairways were in okay shape.
I would not recommend playing the course for another 2 weeks. It should be in good shape by that time. Check with the clubhouse for current course conditions.
p.s.: Drink plenty of liquids--it is hot!!
Fun course
I enjoyed my round of golf. First time playing here. The staff was very friendly & informative about the layout & where to find everything. course was in great shape for being 102 degrees.
Get out before the real heat if possible.. always friendly staff. Nice shape for this time of year.
It was awesome
This is one of my favorite places to play. It helps me work on my game, have fun with friends, with a little challenge along the way. I am already thinking about what day I can go again.
Excellent value
Played on a weekday morning. Course is in good condition for this time of year. Really nothing to complain about. The maintenance staff continues to improve this course. Excellent value for the price paid.
Union Hills is getting better
I have being playing golf at Union Hills for many years and seen it in pretty bad shape. I was very pleased this time to see noticeable improvements to the course. The fairways had fewer bald spots and the rough was also filling in. The ownership is working on some of the tee boxes which is a plus. Newer golf carts are in use. The sand traps still need work and the golfers that play there need to learn to fix their ball marks on the greens. Overall, I plan on playing this course more often.
Frogger golf
Another 5 hour round at Union Hills. The pace of play here is dismal. Pin placements on the sides of slopes is just killing the pace. Too many average or below average golfers play here to have such difficult pins. This is just plain stupid and slows down play. Speaking of slow, the carts are very slow. Having to cross Union Hills road twice like a demented game of Frogger with carts that do not accelerate is just plain dangerous. We never saw the ranger so no one is keeping pace. We did see the cart girl 3-4 times. She and her friendly smile was the only bright spot for the day. Although they do roll their greens I think they might be over rolling them as the greens are too compacted and you can see the grass is thinning.
Very nice improvement
Sun city would be proud to have this course in its profile
Challenging layout
Greens in great shape
Nice practice areas
