Grandview Golf Course at Sun City West
About
Grandview Golf Course may be little known, but it provides a good challenge for players of all abilities. Although the course is relatively demanding, it is suitable for most players and there are also four sets of tee boxes to adapt the game to different skill levels or handicaps. There is a variety of different sand bunkers that golfers need to watch out for as well as water hazards that come into play on four holes. The signature hole is the par-5 13th hole, which is challenging not only due to its lengthiness but also because it requires an approach shot over water.

fun course to play
this course is a lot of fun to play. if you dont hit the fair way you are left with a lot of uneven lies. there are a few holes that make you think about what club to hit off the tee.
Great place to play
If you get the chance play this course. It is a geat experience and I look forward to another shot. Very challenging holes. One had 7 green side bunkers. Not for the queasy.
Wide course; good for beginners and advanced golfers.
Staff pleasant and helpful. Played course in just over three hours. Not busy when I played. Greens were true an consistent. A good variety of holes.
fine course for the money
Hard to say greens were just punched but could be a fun easy course priced very reasonable
Entertaining track
The course does have more character than nearby Sun City courses. Some hard dirt around the perimeter of the course, but we shouldn't be hitting it there anyway. The greens have been recently punched, but acutally rolled ok given that. Give the greens 2-3 weeks and see how they mow them and the course should be ready to go entering the hot season. The wind was howling throughout the day which added some challenge for an otherwise fairly open track. The bunkering and mounding gave it a bit of a Pete Dye or TPC type of feel to it, but to a lesser extreme. Enjoyable day given the elements and the greens.
Great course for all level of players
Great condition for this time of year. Fast greens. Every level of play. My partner has COPD so the tee boxes in front of the red are around 4400 yards so she was able to play all 18 holes. For low handicap players move back to 4 other tee boxes for any skill level .Also cheap beer prices if you so wish.
Fairways and greens great
Fairways and greens were great. Greens can be difficult but fair.
Good Short Game Required
Greens are excellent, fairways are lush. Nice design, long holes, short holes, they mix it up good so you use every club in the bag. I like the swells, mounds etc off of the greens as it requires short game skill to save par. Challenging course in great shape. Only complaint is when you miss the fairway the rough has no solid grass, it is like hitting off of dirt, rough does not have deep roots, just small layer on top of dirt. Makes hitting a fairway a big reward.
West Side Surprise...
Course runs along grand avenue North of Bell to beyond Meeker. I had seen the finishing hole on Meeker and figured the course must be private because it was actually green (year round even).
Turns out the course is in very nice shape. Plays fairly tough from the tips with a couple par 5's that are 550 plus and a total length of just under 6800.
I liked it... a lot and I will definitely put on my replay (soon) list. Course is distinctive and requires some thought and good execution.
While 90% of the courses in SC and SCW are virtually indistinguishable, (meaning if you were in a coma and suddenly woke up on a golf course out here, you would be hard pressed to guess which course you were on...) this course is an exception to the rule.
Definitely worth checking out.
Fun and challenging for us part time players. Course in great shape.
Not a good start a the pro shop because of a bad attitude on checking. That guy needs some PR training.
But-great time on the course. Great fairways and greens. Ruff was playable and traps in great shape.
Some water trouble for bad drives, and lots of sand to make you think. I would play again but want an early start because it was really slow.
Average experience
The course provided a decent place to play a round of golf. Conditions were adequate, but grass was thin in several areas. It had reasonable length and difficulty, but no memorable holes. The price was appropriate. It was a good experience, but I would not drive 25 miles to play it again.
this course was challening for everyone
The course was fun to play, water hazards, sand and fast greens made the course challenging. The pro shop member who checked us in was very unfriendly as the waitress who was going off shift
this course is fun to play
We played at 1:45 in the afternoon. Was slow but we will play it again
Course is in greaat condition
Pace of play was terrible. 4-5 hrs. Sun City West courses are always in great shape. Just need to figure a way to speed up play.
Interesting course in sun city.
This course has a decent length and enough sand traps and water for some interesting holes. It starts out pretty simple - wide open fairway you can see the hole from the tee. But as we played on there were some holes with doglegs, fairway bunkers, water, sand trap carries and some undulating greens. There were risk/reward holes that played fairly.
The carts were pretty old, we played on a cold day and worried that the cart would fail to start. Fortunately the cart made it through the round.
Glad to have this course open to the general golfing public.
For the longest time, this gem has been the exclusive rights of the Sun City West residents and guests. After a decrease in play to the point of financial hardsship, they opened it up to the general golfing public. Great move! This course has everything that a golfer would want.....length, tough par 3s, fastish greens and plenty of well thought out bunkering.
I played it on a weekday it was packed. Even so, the check in, starting and pace of play was no problem (sometimes in the past, you might be looking at a 5+ hour round with 5somes and 6some with individual carts running around like they were lost). I know that with the senior LPGA coming, they are putting their best foot forward. However, I have always this hidden gem to be in great shape. Could use a redesign on a couple of holes, i.e. 17th back pin placement, 13 "forced" 3 shots). But all in all, it is a challenging, risk reward course that everyone should play. The value is great and the experience is worth every penny. BTW, even with the houses, traffic, etc., you still feel "open" and not squeezed into a subdivision with a golf course as a after thought.
Decent Golf Course
Fairly typical neighborhood golf course. There are a couple of interesting holes (17 for one) but otherwise the layout is unremarkable. The greens rolled reasonably true. All-in-all an OK place to play for the right price.
This course has some large sand bunkers and tricky water holes.
I found this course to be well maintained in the fairways and the greens putted very true. It is almost impossible to lose a ball unless you hit into someone's back yard or the water, both of which take some effort. The large sand bunkers are this course's signature as well as the beautiful swans at several water holes. I very much enjoyed this course.
Play moved at a slow pace
The course is in good condition. The greens were slow but true. Fairways were good and some narrow.
