Grandview Golf Course at Sun City West

This course has a decent length and enough sand traps and water for some interesting holes. It starts out pretty simple - wide open fairway you can see the hole from the tee. But as we played on there were some holes with doglegs, fairway bunkers, water, sand trap carries and some undulating greens. There were risk/reward holes that played fairly.

The carts were pretty old, we played on a cold day and worried that the cart would fail to start. Fortunately the cart made it through the round.

For the longest time, this gem has been the exclusive rights of the Sun City West residents and guests. After a decrease in play to the point of financial hardsship, they opened it up to the general golfing public. Great move! This course has everything that a golfer would want.....length, tough par 3s, fastish greens and plenty of well thought out bunkering.

I played it on a weekday it was packed. Even so, the check in, starting and pace of play was no problem (sometimes in the past, you might be looking at a 5+ hour round with 5somes and 6some with individual carts running around like they were lost). I know that with the senior LPGA coming, they are putting their best foot forward. However, I have always this hidden gem to be in great shape. Could use a redesign on a couple of holes, i.e. 17th back pin placement, 13 "forced" 3 shots). But all in all, it is a challenging, risk reward course that everyone should play. The value is great and the experience is worth every penny. BTW, even with the houses, traffic, etc., you still feel "open" and not squeezed into a subdivision with a golf course as a after thought.

Fairly typical neighborhood golf course. There are a couple of interesting holes (17 for one) but otherwise the layout is unremarkable. The greens rolled reasonably true. All-in-all an OK place to play for the right price.

I found this course to be well maintained in the fairways and the greens putted very true. It is almost impossible to lose a ball unless you hit into someone's back yard or the water, both of which take some effort. The large sand bunkers are this course's signature as well as the beautiful swans at several water holes. I very much enjoyed this course.

The course is in good condition. The greens were slow but true. Fairways were good and some narrow.

The course provides an interesting and varied challenge. Playing conditions are good and at the price is an excellent value. I look forward to playing again.

I was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience at Grandview. Course is fun to play and is in above average condition (compared to similarly priced courses in the area). This course lacks some of the desert scenery and elevation changes that you get at more expensive course, and in return it just begs you to pull out your driver and boom it. Pace of play was surprisingly good for a weekend midday.

Several par 4's over 400 yards and overseeded fairways that can shorten your drives, make for fun/challenging second shots.
Greens are in great condition, but firm, so spin essential to stop the ball on the green. Also greens do not break as much as they appear.
Course is is great condition, but expect it to stay that way with the LPGA playing the course in late Feb.

Pace of play was excellent-just under four hours. fairways still a bit thin. Greens long but not deep-somewhat difficult to hold on longer approach shots. Greens full and roll reasonably true. Back nine pleasing to play.

The greens were in great shape. Pace of play was excellent. Waited on one par-3, that's it. Price was under $30, which is a bargain at this time of year. Enjoyed the course and the round. I was teamed up with another Golfnow.com golfer and he was a nice guy. He also gave me some tips for playing Grandview in Sun City West.

Pleasantly surprised as I’ve driven by many times before and didn’t realize what a great little gem was tucked away in this area. This course held just the right amount of challenge for me. Will definitely play here again.

first time playing there really nice fast greens almost made 51ft birdie putt on first could have broken 80

A good course for beginners all the way up to advanced players. Would recommend this course to everyone I know.

Grandview is the best course in the NW end of the valley. The course was in imaculate condition. The greens were absolutely spectacular. The speed was perfect and the roll was so true. The bunkers were in very good condition as were the tee areas. This is the best value in the Sun City West by far. I can't strive enough how good the greens were. You need to play this course NOW. I would recommend this golf course to any guests coming to the Phoenix area. It is a must play. The practice area is fabulous as well. I must also mention the staff will treat you with the utmost respect. Can't wait to play again.

Green ran true good shape... average until back 9 thats where your putting skill must come in nice course..

Difficult for short hitters, maybe deserved a higher slope for the red tees, but it was fun. Very nice pro shop.

Enjoyed a round on a great course in very good condition. The course was a little busy on the front 9 but all in all finished @ 4 hrs out.

Great shape, good bunkers. Greens were slow,they will be faster in couple of weeks. Pay was on the slow side due to snowbirds.

excellent. just over-seeded, improved driving range (larger) will return.
