Grandview Golf Course at Sun City West

About
Grandview Golf Course may be little known, but it provides a good challenge for players of all abilities. Although the course is relatively demanding, it is suitable for most players and there are also four sets of tee boxes to adapt the game to different skill levels or handicaps. There is a variety of different sand bunkers that golfers need to watch out for as well as water hazards that come into play on four holes. The signature hole is the par-5 13th hole, which is challenging not only due to its lengthiness but also because it requires an approach shot over water.

Slow pace
Beautiful day. But, too many slow golfers out. Waited every hole and every shot. Later in the day it got worse as we started to stack up. Obviously, this was caused by slow golfers in front who only got slower.
The course is in decent shape. Greens were a bit hard to read.
Good day
Had a good round. Met a couple of decent folks. Course is in good shape. Carts are a little jerky, but serviceable.

Fairways and greens were in great shape and loved the challenging holes
Great course
Grand view is in excellent shape. The greens are in fantastic shape. I was pleased with the whole course.
Glad I made the trip
It’s a relatively simple layout that meanders throughout the neighborhood, but the fairways and greens were in good shape and it has enough character and length to be a fun test of golf.
Snow bird first timer
I am a 12 handicap and played from the white tees and found that distance very manageable. Greens held nice and putted true. Loved the sand traps as they were well kept and fluffy. Played the front 9 in 90 minutes but ran into a snag on the back at a par 3 where there was a 5 fivesome on the tee followed by three twosomes. To save time we joined the twosome in front of us. More than 2 hours to complete the back.
Very enjoyable day of golf!
great shape
Greens fairways and even sand bunkers were in great shape. Will definitely be back and good value
needs a little more time
The greens need a little more time to root and grow. The greens were not in the best shape yet. They will get there, just not yet. I've played here before and the greens were fantastic.
The rest of the course was wet from all the rain we've been having. Nothing the course can do about that.
The pace was a bit slow. I've never seen the ranger/marshal keep the pace. They have signs up that say keep up with the group ahead of you. But, they do not enforce it. They need to start enforcing the "ready golf" rule. Too many player futz about and slow everybody behind them down.
Fairways & greens still a little shaggy from the overseed. 2 - 3 weeks & the course should be fantastic. Its a wonderful & challenging layout
Disappointing
From the moment we arrived things became obvious. There was no bag drop and we had to lug our bags to the pro shop and of course, load them on the cart. They charge for range balls and the putting green was closed due to the previous few days rain. We went to get ice water. No cups. The pro shop gave us styrofoam cup,s, no lids or straws. We then realized that the ice machine did not give water so the search for water began.
Finally ready to go, we headed to the first tee. The fumes off the gas cart were nauseating. The cart rattled and shook. Needless to say, our water spilt from the cups.. the cart fumes did subside in time. We had to play cart oath only. The overseeding had not been cut and the course played very long. Now we come to the greens. I have been golfing in AZ for the past two weeks. We have played 0 different courses. The greens were very bumpy and needed to be rolled but slower than slow.
Overall disappointing. Pro shop could have told us that they had just opened.
Great course
I always like this course
Play was a bit slow today, which is expected during overseeding
Saturday play
Grandview has interesting layout, especially on the back nine.
Grandview and Golfnow cancel reservations at lower rate without customer approval.
Both parties are blaming each other for this insulting unprofessional collapse of reason. Booked 10/2/19 for a 7 am single Sunday 10/6/19. Next day get phone call from Golfnow telling me that they canceled my tee time because Grandview told them to do so because the rate had increased 10/1/19. Fine, but did Grandview or Golfnow offer me the same tee time at the higher rate? I mean I already had it scheduled and confirmed. NO, neither the course nor reservation system even gave me the chance, they both RESOLD my tee time to another at the higher rate. So I trust Golfnow to provide me tee time opportunities and I trust Grandview to honor my tee times. Both failed me completely. As this time of year we overseed winter grasses locally, the availability of tee times is dramatically reduced as less courses are open for play. So what options do I have? Can't find another tee time or course available on such short notice. Option number two is VENT, done here. Option number three is to not use Golfnow nor ever play at Grandview, done. Beware golfers because both Golfnow and Grandview are NEVER wrong. And when they are... you don't get honored, you get dropped like a two foot putt. And they both would like you to think its your problem not there's.
SCW Grandview
More than likely the best course in SCW. In great shape.
