Oakwood Golf Course
First time playing this course, very nice course, looking forward to playing it again sometime. Played the Lakes 9 for the first 9 and the Palms 9 for the second 9 holes. I really enjoyed my time there.
Nice round of Golf
Course is in good shape and greens all run true and even speed.
Wide fairways and a fair amount of water, but its placed in places that you have to really mishit a ball to find it most of the time.
Only drawback I noticed is there is no beverage service on the course.......so bring your own water or sports drink unless you want to be really thirsty by the end of 9 holes.
Well worth playing
Course was in nice shape. Just over 4 hrs to play. No staff to load or clean your clubs after round. No cart person. Played at noon 0n weekend. Well worth the money.
Very nice course in great shape
Semi-Private housing community course has some tee times available on golf now. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens in excellent shape. Only fairways overseeded but for first time players it was nice because we could see where to hit to. Lots of water on 'Lakes' nine. Only about 6500 yards from tips. Not too many soggy or dry areas. Greens were quick and true.
Nice course
What a great day. The staff could not have been nicer and the course was in great shape. Played In just over 3 1/2 hours which was good I hate standing around on a course. Some residents were waiting to go out and they made us feel welcome which was cool. The course was lined with houses but plenty of space it never felt clostrophobic. The greens were soft and held shots well. Not super fast but rolled very true. Plenty of sand ,trees and water and a good variety of holes. We had a good day and will definitely be back.
Good Saturday
For a course built in a housing development the fairways are quite wide...27 holes...interesting layout..greens are in good shape...food and beverage service is non-existent...very enjoyable Saturday afternoon location
oakwood country club
Excellent value for the money. The course has generous fairways and is very well manicured.
Pleasantly surprised
Sufficiently challanging. Greens are fair and in good conditions.
I go 3.5 stars for these guys, nice overseed this year.
Oakwood is a solid 27 hole that is well kept and fun to play. This years overseed went very well, the course is looking sharp. Being resident owned has severely impeded the number of days and times that are available for play on GolfNow. I do suggest that you get one if you want a solid overall course at a reasonable price.
in pretty good shape, fast play.
Pro shop a little slow to check us in. She could not get off the phone!
Should play
Well maintained, greens pretty slow. Staff was Cordial, beverage cart time was good. Play was a little slow. Paired up with nice couple from S. Dakota.
For the price , nice course , nice fairways and greens.
Positives:
Played the Sonora / Lakes combo...as a single , got paired with an older couple (around my age) both played well and were enjoyable to play with. The courses were typical resort style with a few interesting holes with an adequate number of water holes to make it challenging. Overall , good experience and would recommend to my friends.
Negatives:
Pace of play was a little on the slow side , and NO beverage cart or cups on the water jugs on the course.
Always a Challenge at Oakwood
No matter what 18 you get you'll find it a great challenge to your game. Not extreme in length but long enough for the big sticks -- and you better look out for the water! Have fun every time we play here.
Hidden Gem
There wasn't a great deal of play. This course is located inside a gated community and that could be a reason for the lack of play at this plush course. Just pull up to the gate and tell the attendant that you are there for golf. What you will find will be a wonderful course that will surprise you with its lush fairways and true rolling greens. I cannot recommend Oakwood enough, I wish I could rate it higher than five stars.
Good value at $20 with cart.
Course was in very good shape. Bunkers need some new sand. Staff is friendly and helpful. I will continue to play Oakwood.
Super course!
Excellent course for the price. A hidden gem in the southeast valley. Greens very well kept. An excellent challenge. Go NOW!!!!
Good course, well maintained.
Tees and greens were in excellent shape. Staff was friendly. Got on the course early.
three different nines is great!
Play Oakwood at least five or six times a month. Love the course and I always take out-of-state visitors here and they all really enjoy themselves. Only complaint is the same I see in everyone else's reviews - sand bunkers are HORRID!!! One would think that if the staff read the reviews they would eventually add sand to the bunkers. Other than the bunkers, the course is always in great shape and enjoyable to play.
