Hidden Gem
Great layout and very long fairways. All greens are protected by bunkers so club up on all approach shots. Watch out for Alligators there are 2 big ones on this course.
SCPO
Lots of bare spots off fairway. No fault of the course but players need to rake the traps.Lots of water holes
Arcadian Shores
I played Arcadian Shores with three friends on Tuesday, March 25th. It’s been over twenty plus years since I last played here, and this is my first official review of the course. Arcadian Shores is what I would consider an old school parkland golf course, with an interesting layout. You start your first four holes across the street and finish the rest of your round, where you enter the course. The course was in excellent shape and the greens rolled very nicely. The rough was still dormant which gave an interesting contrast with the deep green of the fairway. My favorite hole would be number 13. It’s a dogleg left, par four, with water in front of the green. Two good shots will get you home with a chance for birdie. Even though I don’t remember the course too much from the last time I played it, I would not hesitate to go back. The entire staff from the bag drop, to the restaurant, to the pro shop were extremely nice and professional.
a lot of bald spots on greens. They did roll true though. Closing in a few days to fix up the course.
Great Myrtl Beach golf course
Excellent through out, played the following day as well and it was even better. Thankyou to everyone involved in the course.
Perfect Greens
The greens were perfect, the grass on the fairways were great, the employees worked hard to keep play moving.
Really Nice
First time playing Arcadian Shores and I liked it very much. The conditions were quite good especially the greens. They were really smooth…maybe a bit on the slow side but I don’t concentrate too much on the speed as long as they are playable and these were. I would certainly come back again.
Course layout great, but not much else
Haven’t been to Myrtle Beach to play golf for 20+ years… used to come quite often before then. Always wanted to play Arcadian Shores but it was nearly impossible to get a TeeTimes… so I was looking forward to playing.
My wife and I arrived about 30 minutes early for our 1:30ish tee time. There was no one at the Bag Drop at first and when someone did arrive, there was not a welcoming greeting and I already had our bags out of the car…I had to ask where to go, etc. not much help.
I assumed we weren’t allowed to take a cart to parking lot, so I parked, went to pro shop to sign in etc. the staff in the pro shop were OK. So we walked back to the bag drop, again no one there so, I started loading our clubs myself, finally someone showed up, and finished the job. I tipped but wish I wouldn’t have, as when we returned after our nearly 5 hour slow paced round, which featured no course marshall…there was no one, no one to help, the pro shop was closed, everything was closed or closing!! It wasn’t that late in the day... could not get in clubhouse to go to the bathroom!! Let alone have a beverage…
On the plus side, we loved the course and the beverage cart lady was so nice, the only employee that seemed glad we were there!!
I’ve played a lot of places, a lot of places, all over the.world, and this is near the bottom of my list for making you feel welcome and hoping you might return!!
