Great
The course was great and the pricing was fantastic.
Dry
Course is very dry with lots of bermuda or crab grass in fairways. Greens are in very good shape although it appears players don't repair ball marks.
Surprisingly good
Plays fast, balls roll true, greens in great shape. $20 after 1pm is a great deal with a beverage of your choice.
Dog Leg City
This little muni track is exactly what it should be: an average local public golf course. I like to play it a couple of times a month because it's narrow and makes me work on my driver zen. Love the hilly terrain and varied up/down-down/up tee shots. Greens seem to be in a little above average condition, fairways are average-to-nice. It's nice that they just replaced their entire cart fleet with brand new units as well.
Pointers: 1. take an extra sleeve of balls -if you snake one it will be lost in the jungle-creek that lines the every fairway. 2. Keep your eyes open for errant shots from other tees coming your direction, as last time I played I our foursome was hit into 5 separate times! FORE!!!
Horrible
Got there a half hour early at 3:45 PM, the starter took my money immediately but then I watched four twosomes tee off in a row while on the practice green, finally she paired me up with a 3 some at 4:15 PM so I couldn't finish before dark which made no sense. The course is in horrible shape. Go there if you like hitting your ball off of rock hard dirt and crab grass. Horribly disappointing. Maybe its the drought.
Fullerton
A good course for a very good value, they did seem to overbook slightly though.
Fun Course
For my level, pretty much a beginner even though I've been golfing for about 25 years, this course was fun and challenging due to all the difference looks the course offers.
funcourse goodvalue
The course is much improved over the past couple of years. A very good value for the money. Great hot dogs.
Agoodday
Found a deal on line . They got me out on time. Pace of play was a little slow.course was in good condition. Not a long course well laid out lots of change in elevation.I enjoyed the day .I recommend playing this course.
Oh Fullerton
I have to play this course because it's a friends home course, and I dread it. The pace is slow. I would attempt to exaggerate how slow the pace with some fancy word, but it's not needed. It's every essence of the word slow. The worse part of the course is hole number 8. Every time we get there it's two groups back. This is usually the best time to make your drive back to the club house for the bathroom, a reload on drinks and food, and when you get back you only have a few more minutes to play 8. I understand being patient, and I play with friends so we still have a good time while we wait. There are countless rude people that play there that try to push the group a head of them, but it's obvious they are being help up by the groups ahead of them. The play is too slow, and some players there show golf etiquette. This Friday we experienced a group that spoke as though they were regulars theres and they felt it was ok to jump groups and holes because 8 was backed up. They just skipped 8 played whatever hole wasn't being played yet. Of course, they ended up at 10 where my group and I were getting ready to tee off from. The guy called us rude for not letting them play ahead.
This golf course has a very good elevation changes
It is a good golf course. I really like the elevation changes and the lay-out
challenging course
This was the first time I play here and it was a good time. The course is chalenging. A lot of elevation changes and some narrow fairways. The course was a little dry and some of the fairways were bare dirt but the greens were in very good shape. There is a good driving range and there are practice putting and chipping greens. The layout is good amd we didn't have any balls flying at us like some other places.
unorganized
Showed up 90 minutes before my tee time, I finally went out 60 minutes after my tee time was booked for. The poor woman in the pro shop was the acting cashier, starter, and was answering the phone and booking tee times. The line to check in was out the door and the manager was walking around and not assisting his poor employee at all and an empty register just collecting dust. The course it's self was ok, fairways could use a lil work and some of the tee boxes could use some work. Nice lil course for players of all levels.
Not good in a crisis
During our round on the front nine on horrible fairways, there was a brush fire behind the nearby hospital. The back nine was closed by the fire Dept "just in case". That was fine because what can you do. We were told we could play the last 4 holes (miss 10-14) or replay the front nine. There was no Refund options available. I understand that it was not their fault but if you can not give the customer what they paid for you compensate them. Its a very common rule in business. Between their cheapness and the fairways (greens were fine) I will not return.
50 types of grass
This course is a mishmash of grass types and is in pretty bad shape. I only play here because it is relatively cheep and close to my home in Whittier.
A more challenging David L Baker
If you have played David L Baker this course is more challenging. The fairways are more narrow but I loved all of the elevation changes at Fullerton. I definitely want to play there again. Remember this is an executive course and I believe par was 67. The course is laid out pretty well, the only thing that I didn't like was that they were doing work to the tee boxes while I was there so many of the distances to the par 3's were completely off, so I was either really long or really short. But once they are done with that it is definitely a nicer more challenging executive course.
fun course on budget
The course is short but narrow so the challenge is not the distance but accuracy.
For the price, it is plenty of fun.
This course is chaos
On its own, the course itself is an exceptional value, however it is poorest ran course I've ever played on. First of all they ran out of carts, so we had to wait 30 minutes after our scheduled start time to begin.
There isn't a starter. Which caused absolute havoc. Groups were starting on random holes. Some groups were playing at a pace Id estimate to be at 6 hours. While there were marshals I have to assume they were sleeping in their carts as I never once saw them attempt to speed up the pace or stop groups from jumping holes. Every hole was backed up, waited ten min before each tee shot. Nightmare
Aerating holes
The course was good and I had a lot of fun playing it until I hit the greens. They were aerating them so the greens had all then ones and were a sandy. I wish they had on their website a notices of when they were doing this process so I could book another day, but they did give notice before the round at the front desk. I took a star away for that reason since the ball speed and break would change due to the conditions. Still had fun though and would recommend to a friend but only when greens are good.
