The Stadium Course at PGA WEST

My wife, newborn, and I drove from Austin, TX to Palm Springs so I could play the Stadium Course for my birthday on Nov 7. The course was supposed to re-open after overseeding just before. To my dismay, I received a call when we were in New Mexico that the course opening would be delayed by a week. 5 days before my tee time, this cancellation came with no warning. The main reason for driving thousands of miles was no more.

The remedy from management: “oh you can play the Norman course at no extra charge to you.” No extra charge? I get to play a lower ranked / lower notoriety course at no extra charge? There is no other remediation (e.g., pro shop credit, money off the round).

I understand that things happen with the weather, etc. However, that tight of a cancellation with very shabby remediation is disconcerting from the self-proclaimed “America’s western home of golf.”

Literally no grass to play in. Scalped overseed with mud and dirt as our course. Staff not welcoming.

No amenities on course - no trash cans no ball washers - like playing on a rundown municipal course. First we were kicked off the stadium where we had a confirmation- then paid same rate at Norman. Practice range was a mess- no yardage markers -sand hard. Hard to believe we came all the way from Virginia with a 70th birthday group for this disappointment. Never again!

Staff was excellent, were able to get me out early to beat the darkness , course was dry , I was scheduled to play PGA West , Stadium course but was sent to the Norman course last min . I am sure when conditions are better the Norman course would be a great track

Very friendly staff nice course to play. Conditions not that good like the last years but ok.

The absolute best course on earth, gotta okay the tips to get the full experience.

Love the layout ... every hole is different and interesting. Conditions were poor but a bit understandable as last round of the summer before overseed. Worst part was pace of play. 4:10 for 16 holes ... couldn't finish because of darkness. Three groups on most of the holes ... 4 on one of the par threes. Too many singles or twosomes that slowed play down. Person on the range told us we’d never get the whole round in ... made me ponder why they didn’t tell me that when I made the reservation. Disappointing that we couldn’t finish.

My two sons and I have been coming to the desert and have always played a round or two at PGA West. We love the courses and the facilities. The personnel is great and very friendly.

We truly enjoy the golf at PGA West, and we will keep coming back. We always recommend the course to our friends and family.

i would play here again in a heartbeat,beautful setting to play in,hardest course ive ever played.would highly recommend to anyone !!

Although hot and a bit slow pace of play, Stadium lived up to its pedigree. Played from the Blues and what a challenge...back tees would be even trickier! You need to bring skill and have every shot. One of the best tracks to test your game. Each hole unique and memorable but

par or better on Alcatraz always a good takeaway.

Awesome experience and a great price. The people on the course were friendly and the staff was amazing. Was blown away by the experience and will definitely be back.

PGA West never disappoints. Most courses in the desert are a little rough just prior to over seeding, the PGA has kept the conditions at a high level considering the temperature extremes. The staff is top shelf and treats outside play guests like they are members. Everyone from the pro shop, outside services crew and starter before our round, to the folks working the beverage cart, halfway house and even the course marshal delivering cooling towels and bottled water made our round extremely memorable. Last but not least the hospitality, and food Ernie's as so awesome that I would recommend popping in for a beverage or bite to even even when not playing the two courses at this clubhouse.

Amazing course and treated first class. Lots of rolling fairways that created so much charm.
