Average course but fun to play
I’ve played Shoreline dozens of times but it had been over 5 years since I last played there. It is definitely a public muni but still a fun course to play. The greens were in excellent shape but the fairways were just ok, with quite a few bare spots as well as the occasional critter mound. To make a comparison to other local courses, I would say that it is on par with Moffett but nowhere near as nice as Baylands.
poorly maintained
I like the layout, there's always breeze to wind to add to the challenge, but the fairways and rough are a goat track. Really poorly maintained, squirrel holes everywhere, bumps, holes, dirt patches, everything you don't want to play off! Even in the fairways and especially around the greens. Greens are tough and generally well maintained, but you'll probably leave 4+strokes on the course from the grizzle they call fairways and rough
People love to complain..enjoy the layout ..a Trent Jones muni..or don’t !
Shoreline is where I’ve been learning to play golf this last year and where I’ve gotten to single digits handicap in place around 7000 from the tips which no other course nearby offers it has long par threes of 200+ yards with wind that make it very difficult and if you look past the blotchy spots in the fairway and realize that it’s not Augusta national you’ll have a great time as it fair but challenging and the greens when in good condition are rolling out at 12 green are the biggest asset bunkers are improving fast tea boxes have been in great condition as of late enjoy it or don’t I don’t care if you don’t come to my course
friendly players
met Alex and Tyler . All 3 were singles. Looked lie greens were just aerated few weeks ago. Plus Maintenance were out on the fairways aerating it. Ball rolled a little bumpy.adjusted hitting the putts a little firmer than normal.
Just Poor
The conditions of this course are sad. The fairways are replete with dead patches and the greens are poor as well. Looks like the greens where punched a month ago and still not healed.
At the rates courses are charging these days this course is not a good destination.
Scheduling is awful
The course does not know how to schedule people. Today I was scheduled to be paired with a group of three and they never showed. I played as a solo and was stuck behind two groups of four and in front of a group of four. I played 18 as a solo in almost five hours. The pace is a joke. At least this time I started on time.
The last time I played here I had an 8:10 tee time and arrived at 7:50 to check in. The shop employee told me to hurry onto the course because there was a group of four scheduled at... 8:10. The same time I booked. I went out as a solo and was sandwiched between two groups of four.
The course is nice itself and it’s a shame how it’s run. If I want to golf this is the last place I’ll book and I do so only because it is all that’s available as a solo or because I have my own group of four so there’s no issues with scheduling. Hopefully.
If you’re playing alone save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else.
