Great course and value for the money, don't be a snob.
Wonderful folks who run this place. I booked here on a whim because it was the earliest time I could get when I was travelling.
Gary, at the pro shop was incredibly friendly and said people had been complaining about the quality of greens, and wanted my (an out of towner) feedback after my round if I could come in for a few minutes.
I made a mental note to take notes of the course as I played it. First time playing in California as well.
- The fairways were in decent shape. Sure, there were some issues with them but thats mostly due to the ground condition and the environment the course is in, not much the crew can do about that.
- The areas outside the fairway were in poor shape, mostly mud/dirt but again, this is due to the area the course is in, not the fault of the course.
- Gary mentioned people had been complaining about the greens. I made a mental note of this. The only green that had any issues was 15. As the course dried up after the morning due, the greens rolled pretty true. Sure, a few bumps here and there due to it being a public course, wet, and people not properly fixing divots, but come on.
I had a great time. The course has some really cool holes, and was very scenic. No driving range, and a small putting area, but for the price I had a wonderful morning playing here.
Decent course. No frills, but okay
This course is a decent shape is a decent value for that in the condition that cost but I wouldn’t recommend it because it’s boring
Could’ve been
Could’ve been an amazingly fun and quirky course if it was in half decent shape. For $85 you would think it would be at least halfway decent. I will never play here again for more than $40 unless I hear there’s a new superintendent turning the conditions around.
Played blue. Very challenging but course management helps
Course has improved a lot from two years ago. Green are great. Some hard fairways with little grass. Should have relief in places where carts have damaged the general area, my suggestion.
Better value elsewhere
Several greens in front nine were bumpy and had areas of dead grass. The back nine greens were much better; but bumpy as front nine. Play was very slow in the back. The blue tees played more difficult then expected for the yardage and rating (6373/130). The staff was friendly and helpful. The brewery was a great spot to end a disappointing round. Overall the course was Ok; but I wouldn’t return as there are better values nearby.
Mediocre Course.
There’s no driving range. Just a couple bets to practice your swing, but you’re not allowed to use your driver. The course layout was nice, but it was patched with dirt/ gopher holes. The greens are really bumpy and the golf balls were hopping all through the putt. I would say a 3/5 overall. It’s a nice course and really quite, but there’s lots of room for golf course improvements to the conditions of the greens. The tee boxes were sub-pat as well.
Nice Staff, Moderate Difficulty, Slow Pace
Staff was very nice. The pace of play was very slow on this particular day, at least 5 minute wait on each hole to tee off, 2-3 groups backed up behind you.
The course has some areas of improvement for maintenance (ie large sunken patches on the green, lots of dirt areas on sides of fairway).
Course itself is a nice layout and not too challenging, fun course to play.
great course but staff no bueno
everything was going well for the golf day until we met mr. Marshall/ambassador on the 17th hole. Really rude and grumpy.
Tee time 6:40am we didnt tee off till 6:52am due to it being backed up. finished at 11:30am.
For a course with NO ONE checking your tee time and receipt on the First tee, they have a rude Ambassador complaining . Right of the bat no hello, no hi just "what does the pace of play say on the card?" Maybe he felt he could talk to me disrespectfully because I look young or I am asian, hopefully not, im hoping he is having a bad day or just rude in general.
Maybe if you showed up earlier in the morning to keep pace, the pace of play wouldn't be lost.
