Great, challenging course with very fast and tricky greens

Green runs true, course well taken care of, staff is nice and tmgreeted us before we parked our car.

A terrific layout that was in reasonable shape. Lots of painted grass, more than I expected for this time of year. The greens were not as fast as they have been in the past and were really showing the foot traffic around the hole which made putts jump and bounce in the last 3 feet.

Played in 4:40 which was a little disappointing.

I was EXTREMELY unhappy with being charged $5 when I arrived at the course (I pre-paid for the round) for a "service fee to help pay the staff". Seriously? I always tip the cart lads and am offended that a course would not advertise this FORCED TAX ahead of time. Please rethink this policy. It's not customer friendly. BTW, I still tipped the cart lads but not as much as I usually would have (and why do I believe the cart staff did not receive the entire $5 tax?!?!?).

It was rainy and cloudy in San Diego, but the trip up to Maderas gave us mostly clear skies and a nice day to play. The course was in winter condition, but honestly it's better than anything back home in NC right now. The surroundings are beautiful and the layout is challenging but fair. Best of all, EVERYONE on staff was amazingly nice and accommodating. Go play Maderas

Was fortune to play this beautiful course and my son and I had a blast. The course ate up a few of our sleeves but what a great time and the most friendly of staffs. Highly recommend you make plans to visit.

A severe golf course with many challenging features - canyons, water, mounds and odd bounces. Good fun!

We paid good tee fee for this course but hen was told that tips was mandatory right off the bat before we even get onto our carts. Also, the cart we had was horrible. It was slow where there is no hills and also added more time to play a round of golf. Please upgrade carts.

One of the great courses you can play in San Diego County. A true gem that we are lucky to live in close proximity. It was especially fun since the wind was out of the northeast that day. We signed up on the Golf Pass App and the rate was $199. At he course two fees were added: an $11.45 water surcharge and a $10.00 bag handling fee. The bag handling was a fifteen foot walk from the bag drop to the cart. Are they afraid people will pay $199 but not $219? I normally will let the bag boys clean the clubs and then tip them, but the baggage handling fee rubbed me the wrong way So no cleaning and no tip.
