Great local course for my ability level
I am by no means a regular golfer. I merely like to go as a time with friends periodically. This course was great for my needs, ability and price range. I would recommend for the casual, recreational golfer.
Good Value, Fun Course
I played on a Sunday morning and the round took a little over 4 hours. It’s a fun, fairly short course with a wide variety of holes and tee shots. The front 9 is pretty wide open and you can hit driver most holes. Back 9 gets a lot tighter and tougher. The tee boxes could use work, but the fairways and greens were in great shape when I played. Starter was very nice. It’s a laid back, no frills course out in the sticks. Easy drive down 77 from Charlotte and you can’t beat the price. I will be back!
This course has a challenging back 9
This course is very open but the back 9 is very challenging. I enjoyed the overall course. The course is a good value for the money.
Good value
This course would be so much better if they put some money into fixing cart paths. Some greens need some work too but it has a nice layout and some challenging holes. Overall, good value for the money.
By far the worst course I’ve ever seen
The greens were beyond pathetic. I’m not an experienced player, but I know when I see poor greens and a poor course. I was beyond disappointed to get on the green on the tenth hole and see a giant mud hole. I paid $32 to play 18 at this dump when I could have done the same thing in Chester or Springfield and had a better course to play off of. The golf cart didn’t even have a parking brake on it. I don’t mean to sound snooty but this is by far the ugliest course I’ve ever played on. I will never go back. The only hole I enjoyed was the 17th. The fairways were dead grass, and the rough was just longer dead grass. Save your money and your drive and go to a course that actually cares about it’s appearance and it’s equipment.
Fun course.
Dry conditions Needs more water sources for entire course
Worst Course Ever
Everything about this course was terrible. The fairways over ran by weeds and it appears that the course have not seen a lawn mower for weeks. The amenities and the club house were deplorable. We should be paid to play this course.
Worst Course Ever
This was my first time I visited this course. The staff was not cordial. The course conditions were horrific. I lost a couple of golf balls in what should have been an open fairway. The fairway grass not only appeared not to have been mowed in weeks, but it is overrun with weeds. There’s no reason for that when listed on GolfNow. I will never play this course again. Worst golf course ever.
you can tell it's been around for a while
It's been a year sine I last played the course. Overall it's a challenging course however the rough could use some work due to the overgrowth. .
Good value
Only problem was the cart died on me and I had to walk back.
Nice course, little dated
I was excited to try my luck on a new course (to me) in York County. The staff was great!!! Was greeted with friendly staff that took care of the grounds and club house. They made me feel like family.
Was surprised at the condition of the fairways and greens. I’d anticipated better conditions considering all the rain we have had in the area. Regardless, I really enjoyed the course layout despite the tee boxes not having any indication as to what hole was being played or the yardage.
It was a challenging course and I would gladly return to play again.
Best value for money - great layout
This has been my go to course for 2019. They have great greens and we’ve had some wacky weather so far this year. Fairways and rough could be better, but they’re still better than most courses in the area, and just fine to me. Sand traps need some work but all the rain this year makes that tough. Greens are phenomenal and better than many courses around Charlotte that would cost you $50+
The layout is fantastic - holes sprawl out and offer a little taste of the outdoors. You aren’t constantly bordering another fairway or tee box. The front is fun and scorable and a good warm up to what I think is a much tougher back 9.
The clubhouse isn’t anything special, but works. If you want a country club feel this isn’t for you - but the simple laid back atmosphere is what I love about it. They have hot dogs and a few snacks. They sell a few balls there but other than that, there’s no real shop. Come here for the golf - that’s what matters and that’s what they focus on.
Improved greens
The course is in much improved conditionsince two months ago when I last played. Obviosly they have been paying a lot of attention to the greens. Greens were well rolled and true.
Never Play Again
I have played hundreds of courses across the country and this might be the worst I have ever been to. Not sure if you can even call it a pro shop but it was a dump. Checked in and he asked me to show him my golfnow rate from my phone. . Carts were a joke as the first one didn't have clips to strap your bag on and the second one the brake wouldn't lock. I am completely shocked that golfnow associates it's brand with this place. The greens are terrible and even if we didn't have the rain we've had it still would be in terrible shape. I only rate it a 1 as that's the only option given
Had a good time
Played on a wet overcast day, cart path only.and was amazed at how well the greens rolled. Challenging course for high handicappers like my wife and I. Standing on the tee of some holes my minds eye can imagine that if the fairway bunkers that have grown in were still there it would give the best golfers pause. I a world of vanishing courses i would recommend playing this list gem.
A pleasant round at Pinetuck
Despite record rainfall within the last month and downpours just a few days ago, the course was in very good playing shape. Weather couldn't have been nicer and we were able to play at our own pace. Greens were great, Challenging hole #17 was almost friendly! Great price. Nice round of golf (except maybe my score. Playing partner had his best score there there)
Great place to keep our game from becoming dusty.
Course was very wet from the large amounts of recent rain days. It did however play well and had well conditioned fairways. The greens were slightly damaged (possibly from the weather). They did roll well in most cases. Carts are electric and function as intended. I will play again, hopefully on a dryer day and again in the Summer to fully experience the course’s potential.
Nice Day of Golf for 3
Despite a lot of rain in the previous week, the golf course was in good playing condition. Played in a group of three and played at our pace. Greens were very fast, but fair. Weather was warm, but not hot. All around nice day of golf.
