Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon offers two 18-hole championship courses, the Legends and the Champions. Nestled in the foothills of the San Gorgoncio and San Jacinto Mountains, both courses have a scenic landscape that offers stunning views. The Legends Course is the newer of the two but it provides just as challenging a game as the Champions, which is a PGA Tour favorite. The Legends twists and turns through the winding elevations, demanding accuracy throughout. Like its sister golf course, there are numerous steep-lipped bunkers treacherously placed along the greensides. The rough is also tall, thick, and unforgiving. The tricky par-3 fourth hole is played from the highest point on the property. From the tee, the canyon seems more intimidating but the wildly sloped green is where the challenge begins.

Course is playable

The course looks like crap but overall plays fast and the greens are in good shape. The y have gone to some low water grass that does look appalling to the eye but plays quite well and fast. The days of rye grass in the winter on this course are by us.

Course in very good condition for winter

This is always one of our favorite courses to play. Course layout is excellent- and the grass in in good condition for winter. The usual lush rough is now dormant- which adds a new challenge.

My only suggestion- on the Legends Course- the snack bar on #10 is never open- but there is usually a beverage & snack cart on the course. That was not the case yesterday- so we had no way to get beverages. Maybe put a sign in the clubhouse notifying golfers to get their snacks and drinks before teeing off.

Legends just isn't the same anymore!

Inside the actual boundaries of the course, conditions are very good, but it's terrible how they've destroyed this scenic gem with with crappy cutout housing, it's everywhere!

30 minute slow!

Course was not like I remembered it a few years ago, fairways were rough, greens were fine. Pace was super slow, we had to call for a marshall as 2 groups in front seemed to all play together, we were all backed up! 30 minutes behind pace. We never managed to finish as it got dark. Will not go back.

Pass on this one

We have played here three times. Only once were we able to finish - and that was because there was a hailstorm and everyone else bailed.

The price is enticing and the course is pretty but they pack golfers like sardines. We had to wait 10 minutes at least on every shot.

Pass on this one - the money grab supplants pace of play.

It's off our list.

Good value

We played the Legends Course. Entities was good except the bunkers. They were compact dirt or gravel pots.

good player

Always the same when playing a public course. Had to fix over 20 of the players in my group divots, ball marks on greens, rake bunkers. For some reason typical green fee players have no concern for the golf course., don' t even look for ball marks etc. Granted the bunkers at this course are terrible , mostly mud, rocks, poor sand.

Pace of play was kind of slow. Some Tee Boxes need maintenance

The course condition is relatively good, except some tee boxes really need maintenance. Some of them were not flat, barely has grass on it. The most annoying thing to me is there was a 4some 2 group in front of us playing at least one to one and a half hole behind. Unfortunately i didnt see any marshal out there trying to correct the pace. it ended up one of a single in my group left at hole 14 because of the slow pace. And the 3some in front of us left at hole 15, also because of the group in front of them was way too slow. We finished 18 holes in little over 5 hours.

General

It was bad this past Thurs, even worse on Sunday; our 4-some won't be going back any time soon. FAIRWAYS cut too high. ROUGH was ridiculous. GREENS mowed too high, and TEE BOXES pitiful.
