Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon offers two 18-hole championship courses, the Legends and the Champions. Nestled in the foothills of the San Gorgoncio and San Jacinto Mountains, both courses have a scenic landscape that offers stunning views. The Legends Course is the newer of the two but it provides just as challenging a game as the Champions, which is a PGA Tour favorite. The Legends twists and turns through the winding elevations, demanding accuracy throughout. Like its sister golf course, there are numerous steep-lipped bunkers treacherously placed along the greensides. The rough is also tall, thick, and unforgiving. The tricky par-3 fourth hole is played from the highest point on the property. From the tee, the canyon seems more intimidating but the wildly sloped green is where the challenge begins.

You pay for what you get

Great course, fairways were in great shape tee boxes were all perfect. As for the greens they are pristine shape, price was at $70 to play but if you want quality you have to pay for quality. Tee time was at 8:40am great golf weather not to cold and sun came out later on during the day. All golf carts have gps with Bluetooth speakers to play music.

Good course but a not-so-good day!

I've played this course several times and really like it. It's in great shape compared to most others in the area for under $50. I've played just after 12:00 noon several times and finished in under 4 hours. NOT today. It was cold and windy and the pace of play was terrible. We started at noon and had only finished the front nine by 2:30. By the time we reached the 3rd hole, every tee box had a group waiting to tee off, a group in front of them waiting to hit their second shot and a group on the green. We often waited 5 minutes or more to hit almost every shot. I left after the 12th because it was so SLOW, cold and windy. NOT FUN! This is the very first time I have given this course a somewhat bad review. Every other time its deserved a 4 star rating for every category so I DO RECOMMEND IT and I will be back!

Chilly ‘n windy

I guess we as golfers have to realize these courses aren’t going to maintain bunkers during the pandemic, Morongos are borderline unplayable. In addition I felt there were many dead patches near and around the greens. The facility /driving range is nice, the greens were in decent shape (save for unreparied pitch marks) and the scenery is nice. The holes are spread out enough where you also feel peace and quiet away from other groups. Also kudos for not price gauging during the pandemic like Oak Quarry and a few of the Corona courses…
