Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon offers two 18-hole championship courses, the Legends and the Champions. Nestled in the foothills of the San Gorgoncio and San Jacinto Mountains, both courses have a scenic landscape that offers stunning views. The Legends Course is the newer of the two but it provides just as challenging a game as the Champions, which is a PGA Tour favorite. The Legends twists and turns through the winding elevations, demanding accuracy throughout. Like its sister golf course, there are numerous steep-lipped bunkers treacherously placed along the greensides. The rough is also tall, thick, and unforgiving. The tricky par-3 fourth hole is played from the highest point on the property. From the tee, the canyon seems more intimidating but the wildly sloped green is where the challenge begins.

Worth the drive.

Enjoyed the course. Pace of play a bit slow. Played Legends course. Layout good and in good condition except sand traps were rock hard.

Great course

I live in OC so my drive to the course is an hour away but it's worth the drive. Very challenging holes, you need to bring your A game here. Pretty fast greens. A must play course. The course fee is reasonable as well.

Beyond Windy

The course was in pretty good shape, however the wind was ridicules and it was freezing cold. I was told it wasn't typical for it to be so windy in the morning usually only blows like that in the afternoon.

Restaurant

Greens were rough due to a lot of ball marks. The course used to have a great restaurant and it closed during COVID and they never reopened it ???? We went elsewhere after our round. Bummer

A bit disappointing

Very slow play waited every hole. 5 plus hours.

Greens were decent but most of the course was not maintained that well. Unfortunate as is looked like it was a very special course at one time.

Tee times where you wont finish the course

I saw that tee rates did not differ from 1 pm + till later. Starting at 2:42 we didn't finish all 18 holes. If you are not going to finish then the tee time fee should be slightly less, perhaps $35.

thanks

Morongo golf

Course layout is interesting and challenging. The course conditions were horrendous. The fairways had a combination of dry bare spots and other areas of standing water and mud with ruts from golf carts. The bunkers had no sand. They were just hard panned dirt with clumps of weeds growing in them. The greens had so many unrepaired ball marks it was like they had been hit by bombshells. I repaired at least 50 ballmarks and didn’t even make a dent in the total number.
