Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon offers two 18-hole championship courses, the Legends and the Champions. Nestled in the foothills of the San Gorgoncio and San Jacinto Mountains, both courses have a scenic landscape that offers stunning views. The Legends Course is the newer of the two but it provides just as challenging a game as the Champions, which is a PGA Tour favorite. The Legends twists and turns through the winding elevations, demanding accuracy throughout. Like its sister golf course, there are numerous steep-lipped bunkers treacherously placed along the greensides. The rough is also tall, thick, and unforgiving. The tricky par-3 fourth hole is played from the highest point on the property. From the tee, the canyon seems more intimidating but the wildly sloped green is where the challenge begins.

Greens and t boxes good. Bunkers below average. Rough around the greens needs improvement.

Course was over- watered. An ongoing problem. Management needs to address the over watering. Hit a perfect 5 wood and left a 6 inch divot. Hugh divots are destroying the fairways.

challenging course

I played the Legends course. The course was wide open for the first eight holes (nice surprise for a Saturday). Fairways and Greens were in great shape. Sands needed more attention as the were all hard panned (I had to chip out rather than blast out).

I would definitely play here again.

What once was

This used to be one of the finest courses in the area when it was the PGA course. Fairway bunkers on the Legends course have just been deemed waste areas and green side bunkers are unplayable. No sand just hard crusted dirt

Fun course

Good course, decent layout, good fairways. Par 3 tee boxes show average use, and the greens are decent as well. You'll see divot marks but unfortunately nowadays that's common. All in all good course fair price.

Definitely not even close to what it used to be. Has gone totally downhill since morongo took over. Refreshment cart lady was so rude. Not sure what happened to this place. Look elsewhere
