Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
About
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon offers two 18-hole championship courses, the Legends and the Champions. Nestled in the foothills of the San Gorgoncio and San Jacinto Mountains, both courses have a scenic landscape that offers stunning views. The Legends Course is the newer of the two but it provides just as challenging a game as the Champions, which is a PGA Tour favorite. The Legends twists and turns through the winding elevations, demanding accuracy throughout. Like its sister golf course, there are numerous steep-lipped bunkers treacherously placed along the greensides. The rough is also tall, thick, and unforgiving. The tricky par-3 fourth hole is played from the highest point on the property. From the tee, the canyon seems more intimidating but the wildly sloped green is where the challenge begins.

Course Feed Back
I used to really enjoy this course. The overall condition of the course is pretty bad. The tee boxes don't really have any grass. The sand traps are hard and full of rocks. Some of the greens were ok but most were in bad condition. Overall, I won't be back any time soon.
great
everything was great.
Great course to play
Overall ok for the money. Conditions gone downhill vs years ago. Brown spots, muddy uneven terrains. It used to be much better pre Covid.
Wrong time of the year?
We came in on a Tuesday thinking the bar and restaurant would be open. So we showed up early to grab breakfast and a drink. Come to find out those parts of the clubhouse are only open on the weekends. So we played 18 holes starving.
There’s no sand in the bunkers. It’s just hard packed dirt with pebbles and rocks. It’s evident that anyone hitting out of these “bunkers” were hitting pebbles rocks on to the greens.
The backdrop of the course has been taken over by hundreds of half built homes. It looked more like a construction site rather than a golf course. This course has a prestigious history but it’s currently an underwhelming experience.
No starter on legends or marshalls
Played legends and the greens are not good, bumpy, rocky, nobody fixes divots. Fairways are ok, not great. No marshall out there to advise that my group got hit into 4 times for no reason. My group was exactly on pace. Nowhere to go cause a group in front of us. If you decide that you ho play golf on a playoff weekend of football, you may think twice before playing . Its not gonna be a quick round starting at noon. Stay home and enjoy the day. Group in back of us was golfing like their hair was on fire. Also sand traps are a mess.. millions of rocks.
Nice Travk
Enjoyable layout (except for hole 2). Good for any handicap. Course in good condition for winter. Greens decent. Need some work in sand traps and could be cleaned up a bit. Overall, we quite enjoyed our round.
Nice layout, but needs a little work
Haven't played here in over a year. Course was in good shape for winter, but the bunkers need some sand and work on them. Played most of them as ground under repair, due to their condition. Several tee boxes were pretty chewed up. Enjoy the track and fairways were in good condition. Greens were fast with plenty of undulations.
One of my favorites !!
This course is challenging- but always fun to play. I have to drive about an hour to get here- but it is worth it.
Fairways are in good shape and the winter greens are fast and tough to read. This course is always in very nice condition.
The bunkers are primarily dirt and small rocks- and very hard pan- so getting any elevation is tough. Many of the bunkers were unplayable because of water from recent rains.
Staff is always top notch and friendly.
Staff was amazing
The staff was amazing, from checking in to speaking with Rick, the started. Both guys were so kind. Being a female, we don't always get treated so nice at golf courses.
Thank You
