Golfer Reviews
Greens are horrendous
Played on Sunday knowing that there were multiple temporary greens but what wasn’t expressed to me was that ALL the greens are in horrible shape, with major grooves and uneven bumps and ridges throughout the greens so it is impossible to get a good roll on any of the greens. I complained when I finished the round and was told they had a fungus infection and they are getting “better”. It still was $53 to play, which in my opinion is about $40 to much.
When in good shape, it’s a nice course, but the greens are pathetic now, so save your money and play somewhere else, for the foreseeable future.
Greens in dire need of help
I was okay with 4 temporary greens but the majority should've been. Way past time to aerify. We played a majority of them under 2 putt rule lol
Course has seen better days
4 greens were temporary and several others had viruses. Also, the sun made things very hot.
They were under repair as needed. If you like hills great for you.
Good for southern CA. This course must have cost fortune to build as they dad get carts paths, and support from their golf carts. Slowed great for down hill area.
Fun Course
This was my first time playing Glen Ivy and I had a good time! The course isn't too challenging with some pretty wide fairways but lots of bunkers make it tough around the greens. I really liked the all the par 3 holes as I thought they were all challenging and visually appealing. Hole 18 was my favorite as it feels like you are on a skyscraper hitting down onto the fairway, awesome hole to end the day!
Falling apart
I understood going in there were holes that were being worked on. Unfortunately though there were more than a handful where the greens were just atrocious. The tee boxes were so in uneven our group made adjustments in order to keep the game fair.
Not great
The setting is awesome and the course could be amazing but the greens that were open, were awful and 4 or more were closed. They let a group of 5 play and that slowed the round to 5.5 hours. Fine they said they were working on 4 or 5 greens, but the rest sucked. The club house was not clean and the bathroom was very dirty. Urinals haven't been cleaned for weeks. Gross!
Waste of money
Pros: beautiful layout
That’s where it ends. Horrible course management, greens that are in play,7 of them are sopping wet bumpy your ball meeds 4wd to get to the hole. Fairways are in horrible condition and the tee boxes are hammered, go somewhere else I know I’ll never be back
Not good
The course was in bad shape. The fairways were bad and the greens looked like they had fungus, lots of patches of dirt and sand. In addition there where 6 holes that had alternative greens because the real greens were ground under repair. The alternative greens were not mowed enough so you can putt.
Glen Ivy Under Repair
Played this course several times before and had an excellent experience. Was looking forward to the same this trip but too many greens were temporarily removed and many that you could still use had growth disease. The remaining few greens with grass were like a hay field and luck was the only putt you would make.
Was not informed of the multiple defective greens upon booking. And their discounted price did not come closer to compensating for course condition.
Four temporary greens, other than that, the course was good
Wow..so so disappointed
The only good part of the course were the bunkers...excellent sand. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in the worst shape I've ever seen. They had 4 temporary greens and the greens we played on were like putting on shag carpet, super slow and uneven. They said they're working on the course but it's gonna take 3-5 months before it's decent. Save your money!!!!
Terrible Greens
course layout is great. The GREENS ARE TERRIBLE!!! I REPEAT " GREENS ARE TERRIBLE!!! They tell you only a few holes are bad. Not true, all greens are bad. They need to shut this course down and focus and fix greens. The discount price is not worth it.
