Absolutely terrible conditions
The cashier said we are giving you $10 dollars off due to some work taking place on course. He mentioned a couple greens being worked on and a couple Tee Boxes with only the front and back Tee open. The truth was all greens were disgusting and deceased, some where even spray painted. It was horrific and the worse turn around in condition to a course I have ever seen. It’s obvious their greens have a decease and that should require a lot more of discount than 10 dollars. I’ve here golfed before and loved it, as recent as March. I feel a refund or partial refund would be great. I’m sure they are working hard to resolve this but in the meantime charging prime time weekend rates is ridiculous. I bragged to my buddies how great this place was, we drove in from Orange County and my nephew from Victorville. Very disappointed ☹️
Love this course but they’re working on it now
Great course, fun & challenging to play. They’re working on the greens and overseeded fairways so not as good as normal conditions. They gave us an extra discount in advance to make up for it.
Worst I've ever seen
I've played this course over 50 times and I've never seen it this bad. Greens were horrible. Someone had to have vandalized the place. Worst greens I've ever seen anywhere. In addition fairways were full of dirt patches everywhere. Their has to be an explanation of some sort. Bunch of old dudes playing like they were trying for a 6 hour round. I left after 16 . No way was I waiting another hour to play 2 holes.. to bad this used to be a fantastic course.
Worst green and fairway.
Greens and fairways are in bad shape. I mean really bad. Especially, the greens have worst condition. A lot of damages and bare spots are noticeable on most of greens. Do not expect to have a good putting on these greens. It is not worth of playing here if you pay $70 per person. I'm very disappointed about the condition of greens and fairways.
Course Conditions
On Saturday I played the course for first time in a couple years and was completely disappointed in the shape of the course. When I got there the guy offers a 10% discount because of the current conditions, that brought it down approx. $4.00. He described it because a few greens were in bad shape. Bad shape is one thing these green were like putting on concrete and was not just a few greens it was the entire front 9! The fairways were no better, they would be better off charging at a discounted rate and warning people prior to coming in! To top it off the guy said I need a polo shirt next time. A course this bad should not be asking for anything but thanking people for coming in as they’re struggling.
Course is in the worst shape I’ve ever seen it in. Fairways are bad & greens are all torn up. Not worth the money that they charge for green fee. Club house is under staffed and limited service in disposable plates .
Not in good shape
First time playing here. Course is beautiful but need some maintenance. Greens are in rough shape.
Formerly a good course, currently in bad condition
Staff were terrific, however 16 of the 18 holes were in terrirble condition.
Greens: 1 out of 10 - many greens were bare with 30-40% of the green was dirt or bare spots painted green.
Fringe: 1 out of 10 - fringe around greens was inconsistent and in very bad shape, uneven, over grown, bare spots, sometimes mud or dirt only. Playing chips and pitches into the green could not be made with normal technique or strategy. Instead the player must choose their shots to avoid the poor groundskeeping.
Sand: 6 out of 10 - Bunkers on the front 9 were average to poor but bunkers on the back 9 were in tremendous shape with new white sand that played true without being overfilled.
Fairways: 5 out of 10 - Some fairways were dry but all were playable. These are what could be considered satisfactory, but not great. Often finding bare spots throughout or overgrown sections right next to playable lies.
Rough, Second/Third Cuts and areas just outisde of fairways: 2 out of 10 - these areas were very inconsistent throughout the course. There didn't seem to ever be a true second cut and in many areas you would expect to find your ball in the rough, there would be no grass at all or weeds that have grown in over the grass that should be used throughout the course. These areas make up the majority of landscaping on courses like Glen Ivy, and were wildly inconsistent and nearly all were in poor condition.
Tees: 2 out of 10 - 16 of the 18 tee boxes were in terrible condition, with many closed and Blue tees often moved up to where White or Gold would be.
In general, this couse is a wonderful layout that I really enjoy but I cannot recommend it in the shape that it is in.
The conditions have gotten so far below even Municipal level that the only way I could see them making progess would be to close the course for a few weeks and tear out the turf, reseed and get it back to playing condition with an eye for detail.
Could not believe it!!!
I have played this course over 30 times and yesterday we decided to play there and it was a very unpleasant surprise, fairways and greens all damaged, you can not even put on greens, no grass on fairways or greens, they have to do something here or you are going to loose one of the best golf courses on southern California.
Worst Greens Ever. Save your money.
I am not sure what has happened but the course is in the absolute worst shape that I have ever seen it. Maybe some of that driving range money should have been spent on course maintenance. The greens were horrible. Many looked diseased and many were painted to try and cover it up. I couldn't even tell you when the cups had been moved, but all of the edges were very worn and many were volcano cups. The tool to flatten the area around the cup after installation is made for a reason. A few of the greens actually had surface separation from the base. I will not be back and have made sure my buddies know not to waste their money. The worst part is they GAVE me a 10% discount because "a few of the greens were spotty" They should have paid me to play there instead.
Bad Greens
Course was dry and greens were in bad shape. Was not told about these until check in. Even though they gave a 10% discount was not worth $71. Pace of play was 5 hours.
