Sierra Lakes Golf Club

Great place to golf and the weather was perfect. Some weeds around bunkers but I wasn’t expecting Pebble Beach either. I would definitely would golf here again.

Everything was great, except we would have liked the kitchen to have been open before we teed off.

Played on a Friday morning, and it took 3.5 hours to play the front 9. I had to quit after 9, Not because the course was busy, it was because the course and management doesn’t care about the pace of play. We had four groups of 4 on the same hole multi times dropping and hitting multi shots. The Marshall is a joke and doesn’t enforce anything. You pay $80 to have the worst time ever. I will rather play a course not to the level of serria lakes but has a Marshall that keeps the pace of play going. I don’t even want to think about how long a round takes on the weekend. As nice as the course it, I’ll be going somewhere else next time. It is sad you have such a quality course but management not caring about it.

Obviously going off at the crack of dawn helps this review. But the staff was super friendly. I feel like the course was in great shape. It was relaxing to go out and practice my game on such a nice course. Obviously the first tee box looked like a circus when I left at 8:30 (does anyone work anymore?) but since it’s a short par 4 , maybe spread the tee times out a bit to help the congestion.

The course has a great friendly staff. They had no starter which created anyone tee off at anytime even if you had a tee time. They had a foursome and a five some

I front of us and their tee time was later than ours. They slowed the rate of play to almost four hours.. I’m sure they don’t allow five soles but because there was no one out there it occurred.

This course is in really good shape. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are all getting watered regularly. The rough is full and thick, not dry and dead. The sand traps have sand in them. I saw so many maintenance workers that day, it appears they are taking care of this course.

Weather was cool at the crack of dawn. Still dew on the fairways on the front 9. On the back 9 course picked up and speed and distance did as well.

Rode the Blues (71.1/124/6435) for 36 holes. Started @ 745 a.m., finished @ 4:45 p.m. with about 30 minutes between rounds. POP moved well, minimal waiting in the a.m. playing with Chuck, Dave and Bruce. Played at our own pace in the p.m. playing with David. Overcast, calm and warm made for very nice playing conditions.

My first time playing here. Wide tree lined fairways set on rolling hills surrounded by upper middle class home with mountain back drops creates a nice visual.

Tees lush and very well maintained.

Bermuda fairways mostly lush and played firm, allowing for lots of roll.

Rough was deep enough to be penal. Sometimes difficult to find you ball unless you were close to it.

Sand traps the weak link, mediocre. Too think, lukewarm endorsement is that they usually played better than they looked.

Large Greens rolled well @ medium speed. Receptive to holing irons, numerous irons/pitches stopped right beside their ball marks.

Basic carts, no GPS. No on course services. Friendly pro shop and starter. Adequate range on mats. Course is generally lush and very green, firm fairways and receptive greens. Highly recommended for the immediate area.

I've played here quite a few times and the course conditions have never disappointed me. The fairways at Sierra Lakes are first class! Eventhough the fairways are very wide, make sure you land in the fairway, the rough can elevate your score.
